I just picked up a stock 2010 Diff with LSD. if somone wants it I will be more inclined to swap it out faster. Let me know.

Hey guys, I'm ready to swap out the diff and swap in the 2010 diff with LSD (full carrier)in my 2008. Is there any impact on anything I should be concerned with. For example electronic, ABS and what not? Please respond ASAP as I'm at the shop now lol

The new 2010 ISF diff is in and first impressions is that its stock. I feel the car has lost its wild kick *** side of it. No matter what the specs say I cant see how the only beneficial gear in the 350 diff is first gear. The car feels dead now. Anyways, it has LSD. Thanks Defcon racing again for a flawless install.

I agree with you- the only thing I can think of is that the drivetrain is a torque multiplier, so when you look at those charts, you only see the drivetrain ratio, not what kind of torque the motor is making. You'd really need to look at engine torque X drivetrain ratio and see how that matches up.

My experience is the same as yours- the diff makes the car feel like it's in sport mode all the time. In manual mode, even at part throttle, the tires spin when changing gears.

I might be heading up to NED next weekend. I'll be sure to post results if I do.

You're not going to believe it but there were two brand new wrecked 2010 ISF's. The cars fell off the delivery truck back when they were new and the insurance company wrote them off. The salvage yard I bought the diff from has two engines, two trannys, two diffs two everything. They parted the cars out then crushed them. When we drained the oil from the diff to replace it, it was crystal clear. Visually, the diff is in perfect condition and mechanically perfect. This yard still has the second diff........

Interesting concept here, one would think that if you can get the car to hook up and go it *should* go faster at the track.

Of course, 2 more shifts at .1 each is gonna slow you down .2 right there.

Gear swaps is one of the first and most common things on mustangs and guys can drop .3-.5 tenths off their 1/4 mile ET but they are also set up pretty horribly.

For example, the 94-04 Auto cars were 3 speeds with overdrive. You would go through 3 gears in the 1/4 with stock gearing, and jumping from the stock 3.08 or 3.27 to 3.73 or 4.10 you would still go through 3 gears, just have a way better 60 foot and actually cross the line a lot closer to where you should be in 3rd gear.

I have a drag simulator that I use online sometimes, although it may not be 100%, it is interesting seeing what it says.

Stock: Summary
Seconds Seconds
0-60 mph: 4.34
0-100 mph: 10.70
60 ft: 2.06 @ 37.89
330 ft: 5.39 @ 70.28
1/8 mile: 8.20 @ 87.86 (89.46 actual)
1000 ft: 10.62 @ 100.79
1/4 mile: 12.70 @ 108.47 (109.29 actual)
Max Accel: 0.897 G
Air Density: 0.00245453 slug ft^3
Time Delta: 10.0 ms

with 4.09 gears

Summary
Seconds Seconds
0-60 mph: 3.92
0-100 mph: 9.93
60 ft: 1.81 @ 38.17
330 ft: 5.05 @ 71.43
1/8 mile: 7.81 @ 88.73 (89.81 actual)
1000 ft: 10.22 @ 102.37
1/4 mile: 12.28 @ 108.85 (109.61 actual)
Max Accel: 1.170 G
Air Density: 0.00245453 slug ft^3
Time Delta: 10.0 ms

I would think this would be fairly accurate, the car should get out of the hole and 60 foot a lot better.

As long as it worked the way it should down the track it should be quicker

Has anyone actually tested this yet?
