Can you disable VSC? I have a 2008 IS F and the only thing you can disable is the TC...I think you can disable the VSC by going through a whole slew of stuff.

ALSO..you say you NEVER drive with the VSC on? How much hooning do you do in a day? That just seems really unsafe.

^^^ like he said you hold the button longer and you will see everything turn off. I think I have only heard beeping a couple times.

A decade ago there were no nannies controlling the car, so you had to know how to drive. I've been driving for about 28 years, manual trannies all the time except for the ISF, so I know quite well how to handle my car. I know its limits and don't intend to go beyond them. No hooning or unsafe driving here, however you may need another pair of jeans if I take you on a ride.

Back to VSC, even when disabled through the long push, TC will engage but not as invasive as with the VSC on. I can take a corner, wet pavement, loose the tail a bit, and I can see TC flashing on my instrument cluster, but again I haven't noticed any beep. The pedal dance will disable TC in full.

TC isn't engaging. It's the e-diff working. It's the only thing left after the long push on the VSC off button. I guarantee you, there are no nannies working to save you if you press and hold the button. I haven't spun my car, but I've been dangerously close at the track.

So what does the long push accomplishes on the LSD ISFs? Same thing as the pedal dance on the ESD ISFs?

According to TIS, the long push turns off VSC and TRAC only. There is no mention of the e-diff function in the 2010 or later new car features when the Torsen spool was introduced.

One very interesting thing - in the service manual, the technician is directed to do the pedal dance if the car is being run on a chassis dyno. So, even with the VSC and TRAC off, Lexus is concerned about the car jumping off the dyno. The description of what happens with the different configurations is not nearly as clear as the documentation on the 2008 models. Frustrating to say the least!
