Default 2014 F vs GTR

Just wanted to see people's opinions on whether they would rather buy the new F if and when it comes out in 2014 or buy a used 09 or 10 GTR that would prob be at least $10 or $15k cheaper by then. I think i would rather trade my F for a pre-owned GTR in 2 yrs or so unless the new F is just out of this world amazing. I think once pre-owned GTRs become available in the sub $50k range a lot of us will be going that route.

I’m currently in the process of shuffling things around for a GTR. I would say, by fall or earlier I should be getting into one. I tolerate the 08' IS-F's suspension just fine-doesnt bother me. I realize the GTR has a much more significant maintenance program, but I’m also well versed as a mechanic to offset it as the likely hood of a 09-10' GTR with warranty is slim.
My plan consists of buying a GTR, roll cage, downpipe, tune-done. My 10 sec DD.
I honestly think that it will be at least 2 more years to see relatively low mileage GTR's in the 50's unless you have cash.

What is the extra maintenance a GTR requires over an F?

Different class cars, beside speculating between buying a non-existing (yet) ISF against a used GTR is like trying to decide if in 2 years you should buy the then-current top of the line desktop computer or a 2-year old top of the line laptop.

I wouldn't get a GTR over my ISF, I'd get it next to my ISF!

pretty much most of the maintenance items, from fluid change to brake jobs. search around, if you worry about the price of the car, worry more about the maintenance cost down the road

I just traded my F about 3 weeks ago for a 2011 GTR. The cars are night and day really. The interior of the F is much nicer, roomier and better layed out. In terms of power the GTR is way way ahead of the F With mods and tuning you can get up to 1,300 wheel horse. The gtr also puts power to the ground like nothing else. In terms of maintenance things like pads, rotors etc you can look to spend about double what your paying for the F. The recommended 30,000 tranny fluid replacement , from the dealer anyway, will set your back about 1,200. Lol

If it were me, I would buy the IS F. Now if I were in the position to buy either brand Spank'n new 2013, GTR big time. Way too many stories about the older GTRs for me to want to take a chance.

I prob will still love my F in 2 yrs so it won't matter but i thought i would hear opinions. Didn't know GTR had so many maintenance requirements but i guess it's to be expected with a car like that

Almost apples to oranges. If you go to the track and/or performance is the top priority (and you have semi-deep pockets) then you will want to go with a GTR. For a comfortable yet fun daily that can hold it's own on the track . . . ISF. GTR is noisier, maintenance will cost a lot more, etc. It's a focused car and is very good at what it does though.

I was on the market to buy a Used 2010 GTR before deciding on getting my 2012 IS-F. I just got tired of getting ****ed around with people not thinking im serious about buying a GTR and shipping it to Guam. So I decided on the IS-F since there is a local dealer but I do plan on continuing my search when I go stateside. But just as Juanca said,, I plan on getting the GTR next to the IS-F. GL with your choice bro !

To SeanGTS, i am simply comparing the 2 cars from a price point of view, used GTR vs new F. I think we all know u can't compare the cars from a performance angle

IS-F or maybe that new coupe they're speculating about. Who knows what that thing will have under the hood. The GTR is too much of a race car and I don't like the looks of them. To me, the F is a more comfortable, luxurious daily driver.

I bought a 2009 GT-R new in 2008 and sold it for $63,000 late in 2010. If I still had it today, I could sell it for more than that. The reality is since Nissan jacked the new MSRP to near $100,000, the used ones are holding the value.
