Is he correct, or will this work?

Oh yes it will
I have had one on my F for the last three years. The diameter of the stock sway bar is 17mm the F-Sport is 19mm. A change that can be felt. There is a long thread about this bar in the IS section.
BTW, I have a contact at Superstition Springs Lexus and called him to let them know that someone is spreading wrong information. I bought my car, and my bar there.

@ Op - Even if it does fit, you may consider spending a little extra for the Sikky sway bar as it's multi-adjustable. Position 1 being equivalent to the Fsport bar, position 2 being great for performance street driving, and position 3 being for full track mode.
I'm in position 2 and can attest that it makes for extremely flat cornering without compromising ride quality.

I like the Sikky Bar and would do it if i was tracking the car. The car will mostly be a crusing car. So for the price and the Positives that people have said about it and it being $155 bucks. I cant go wrong.
