Default Help! My isf is weak

Hello guys,

Im having an interesting issue with my 2008 F.

Here is the scenario:

heading to work. By the time I get to the freeway onramp, (about a mile from home) my coolant temp is up to safe range but the oil temp is still at one bar. (car still not all the way warmed up)

the car is very responsive at all RPMS and runs VERY strong when the temps are still relatively cool.

Now, the strange part:
as the oil temps get up to 2 and 3 bars, the car sounds and feels much less responsive. Also, it is noticeably less powerful. (butt dyno says 25-40 hp less)

This happens almost without exception every time I drive the car.

Again, when its first started up, and relatively cool, It runs like the BEAST that it is.
(even responding and sounding different)
Once the car fully warms up, it runs like an is350.... Fast, yes, but nothing like it should be.

I do have great sympathy for the engine and its internals, so please refrain from telling me I should wait until its fully warm to "blast off" I already agree.

I really appreciate your help. Ive had the car for about 7 months now and Im going crazy trying to figure this out.

Im running mobil one full synthetic.
No check engine or funny sounds.

Thanks again,
Nate

Nate, are you against bringing it into the shop and having them hook it up to their system? Shane at LH Miller Lexus is good, FYI. (if you're in the slc area)

Thanks, thats actually a good idea..
Ive always been hesitant to take any of my cars to the dealership just because I hate to spend the $$..

But I may be to that point.
I am in SLC area. (ogden)

Warranty? If yes take it in...its free

If not I'd def go to an autoparts store and have them plug up my ecu and scan for any codes that might have been recorded.

If still nada I'd pull the 2 fuses to reset the ecu. This might just fix your problem

What is the mileage on the car? This sounds really odd. And are you the original owner or do you have more info about previous owners/maintenance done on the car?

Check the last four of your VIN,.. if it's around or below 1000 you might have a Valve Guide issue like the rest of us with the first set of F's. The only reason I suspect it is because your saying your at three bars on Oil Temp when you loose power, and most guys with the knocking issue report three bars more frequently. Try getting you engine nice and warm and then popping the hood and listening close for some knocking. If so you can search for "ticking" or "knocking" and read all the threads about getting it fixed.

Let us know if you figure it out!

Damn 97? I'm pushin 48k on my 08. But yea I would def take it to the dealer, especially since it was bought used. I'm sure if they find out the issue they won't break the bank just for a diagnostic.

^^^ I don't think he ran nitrous. I remember him posting in here, but for some reason I don't think he had it for a long period of time, definitely not 93k miles. Maybe he got it used and sold it because of the problem?

Holy Cow! I am only at 15.5K on my 08. She is still a baby. LOL! Let us know what you find out. It may help other drivers who experience the same issue. Let's hope it is not a common thing with high-mileage on an F. That is the most miles I have heard of on an F so far.
