Default DVD override/hack for 2010+

I had wanted to do this to my '10. Juanca was nice enough to come over my place and help me out on taking apart my dash/radio. I followed the thread which had all the pics/colored wires to follow and which to splice. When we pulled the radio off and looked at the back of it, it looked nothing like the thread. I guess they chaned up the wiring diagram for the new F's(2010+).

Does anybody knowwhich wire to ground in order to watch DVDs while in D?

Dear DCoolBeans, if you decide to go for a plug and play kit, we have one to avoid splicing your wires here: Beat-Sonic TVK-46

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Sorry for the noob question but... there is various other functionality that can only be used when stopped (i.e. entering a new POI destination). Does your bypass also unlock that or just DVD playback? Thanks!

We welcome all types of questions

The TVK-46 will only unlock the DVD playback for your vehicle model. If you want to unlock navigation, POI, mp3 folders and phone dialing in addition to the DVD playback, you will need the Beat-Sonic NT4618

If you want to only unlock navigation address input, POI, mp3 folders and phone dialing, you will need the Beat-Sonic NVK-18

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

dcoolbeans, another option you can consider is the prestigious society navi override kit. ps has a kit that works with the 2010+ IS-F.

link: http://www.prestigioussociety.com/?page_id=138

and i read somewhere (can't remember where) that for the 2010+ ps kit, there is no need for a button to push anymore - you use the volume + and - buttons to enable/disable the override. that's as factory/stealth looking as you can get.

I like this product but are wonding why there needs to be a button at all?

If you install the kit to allow for in motion use, why would you want to turn off.

without the button the system is forever in override mode and your nav won't work at all.

but like storm said for 2010, prestigious has new kit with no button

All these kits look great but like I was wondering: Does anybody know which wires to splice/ground?

the ps kit is plug and play. there is no need to splice/ground wires.

doesn't look like anyone is going to answer your real question lol. Just a heads up, a good friend of mine had his entire electrical warranty voided by doing a very similiar mod to his G37S nav.

$160 is a small price to pay considering that an individual controller/button unit on the ISF will be the same cost.

i also know of 2 cars who did wire cutting, nav died, went in for warranty, tech found out about the wire cutting, proceeded to void all electronic warranty on the car and documented in the computer so it's nationwide. ouch

For the < $150 for the Beat Sonic nav/mp3 override i don't see why people would go cutting wires.
