Will the F always accept the downshift in the M mode with sport enabled?
I have noticed that in the Sport mode alone, it sometimes will refuse the downshift.
As someone new to the F, I would appreciate some guidance here.

It will only refuse to shift in Manual mode if you are requesting a gear too low for the current speed, or if the auto trans fluid is not up to a certain temperature (as far as I know).
Also, if you leave the car in manual mode, it will downshift for you as you slow down.
What exactly are you experiencing?

Im pretty sure. Like MisterSkiz said, it will only refuse it if its too low so that it doesnt blow your tranny and you dont get that major jolt.

I just found the ISF Shift Thread. It appears that I simply need to take my foot off the accelerator to get the rev matched downshift in the M mode with Sport enabled. Is there a difference in downshifting if the VDIM is disabled?Originally Posted by MisterSkiz

You can see that I clearly do not have much experience with the F's shifting capabilities and methods.

unless the '12's are that much better, the foot of the accelerator accompanied with a flick of the paddle will do a rev matched downshift... i think just letting off the accelerator causing a downshift would be bad in some cases...

I took the F out on an open stretch where I could hit 120 and test the rev-matched downshifts in the M mode with sport enabled. It worked beautifully--a very exhilarating experience--and addictive as well.
It was clearly my lack of knowledge. It blipped with every downshift and upshifted with lightning speed.
