Default Exhaust Help Please!

Hey guys, quick question on something I am a bit confused about. Make a long story short, will my car pass smog in CA if I buy the ISS forged Exhaust? I KNOW it will fail the visual test, but as far as passing emissions, it should pass right? As in can I put the exhaust on, and then take the car to get smogged without taking it off. Can anyone on here attest to my assumption? Furthermore, has anyone here actually gotten their car smogged with the ISS exhaust on? Any help will be appreciated, thanks guys!

I know a guy that can do it for me, I am just curious if I could avoid that altogether and it would still pass smog.

u should pass as if the primary cats are still functioning and doing their job. u will fail visual though if they look underneath.

^^ Ditto... !!

If "Primary CATs" are still in place.. You "should" be able to still pass a sniffer test...

However, if the Tech does a proper visual inspection, it will Fail for "modified exhaust system"

Thank you guys for the replies, I really appreciate it. Ya, Cali sucks when it comes to this stuff... Actually there are multiple reasons why Cali blows but it has it's advantages.

I guess there is no emission test for 5-6 years right? Cause on my STI i was never asked to do emissions test since 2005 to 2011. I had new uppipe downpipe and highflow Greddy exhaust.

I will get an JoeZ next month, will keep the stock one just in case.

And people wonder why I moved from CA to GA after 24 years in Sacramento...Smog Check II is the worst by far.

Correct. But your STI is exempt because the state exempts vehicles with full time all wheel drive, which your STI is. One reason that I loved my WRX when I had it. Can mod to your hearts
