Default convert MPH to KMPH

So on my 2011 ISF there is no way to know the seepd in KMPH. I tried every option but with no luck. So basically what it is that when I travel to Canada I need to visit a Toyota dealer close to the border and have them change the digital display to KMPH using their computer and then back on entry to US.

This totally sucks. Same is the case with 2012 too. I am not sure is 2008 to 2010 has the speedo with Miles and Kilometers.

I always just guess when I'm in Canada, I have never once seen a speed patrol in that country.

If you have a smart phone with gps + accelerometer you can get some very accurate speed readings with an app. This would be an alternative to going to the dealer.

I've always just mentally tried to keep track. I know that 50kmph is roughly 30mph. So I used that as my base guide and then just stayed with or slower than traffic flow.

I guess this is where the 2008 to 2010 Gauge Cluster prevails..

Multi Display read out..

2011 to 2012 only shows MPH in the US market..

Not to mention in Canada, on the 401 anyway, people do 140-150 kmph with impunity.....

Multiply kmph by 0.6 to get mph. Divide mph by 0.6 for an approximate conversion. So 60 mph is about 100 kmph.

So the dealership in Canada can change the digital display to KM? How much did they charge? I wouldn't be able to import an ISF without this..

Its supposed to be free (Cali dealer told me). It takes them 5 minutes to do this, change the ecu setting using the scanner tool and computer.

Get the instrument cluster from Canada for 2011 and swap. That should work. Then recalibrate using the Toyota scanner to kmph and you are done.

Bonus Sell the US cluster on eBay.

If one wants to register the car in Canada then mental mod won't work.

Then do it the other way around and switch to a metric display and mentally convert to MPH when in the US.
