interesting things i never knew bout. I actually didn't special order it. there was a really goood deal on the car. so i was wondering how much it will cost me to put all that in the car. u never know man there might be someone i will know, sooner or later who works at a lexus dealer ship and he/she will hook me up with good dealls too. u just have to wait and have patience just like i waited till i found my car.
How did this turn out, were you able to successfully upgrade your navi software... if so, I will try this.
Now just waiting for the 11.1

so u were able to hook up the 6th gen system in your 2008? is it plug and play? so basically you have the black center panel with your grey air vents on top? does the nav traffic work?

sorry i misunderstood you then... i thought u installed the entire gen 6 center console but you just meant the gen 6 navigation software which is weird that you got it to work...

I've removed a few posts discussing navigation software piracy. Also - I work in information security and specialize in malware. I can tell you downloading anything from peer to peer networks has an 80% chance of the target software containing malware - the kind of stuff used to steal your banking and affinity account credentials or turn your home pc into a spam/DDoS bot. Think twice about getting something "free" because it very often comes with something not so free.

Although I do like the multimedia interface offered by the touchscreen, the navigation software is abysmal. I feel like I'm using a system from the 1990s. For example, when zoomed in, there is absolutely no detail - no street names, no streets, nothing. I always have to rely on my google maps to check where I am. And, the traffic info is atrocious as well. It only provides traffic for the major freeways. Why doesnt it show the major streets and avenues like google maps? Lexus should be ashamed of themselves for offering this system in its current form.
