Taking the headlights out isn't too bad, as said above, it involves removing the bumper which isn't bad. The part that was a pia to me was taking them apart, removing the ballasts, wiring, etc in prep for baking them. All in all it's gonna take a good 4-6 hours atleast. In the end though you're not gonna remember the time spent taking it apart, you're gonna look at your new headlights totally satisfied.

Thanks for the info. I am very nervous about pulling them out and working with them. I just had the dealer adjust the headlights because the low beams were not shining down the road very far and I could easily outrun the light (the lights would only shine down the road about 2 center dashes or road markings in front) and they seem to have lowered them further rather than adjust them up.

I was thinking of taking apart the lights to add the Oracle Halos. Has anyone done that?

I' really sorry about the old thread bump (hopefully you're still an active user here), but why did your ballast's and headlights fail? Was it from moisture entering the housing?

yes it was...

there was rust all over the ballasts, the condensation was able to pool in the bottom of the housing.

I've had a set done on an old 350z of mine before, I was always wondering about the seal. I never had issues, but I was more worried about seal the not lasting over time, especially with the heat we have here in az.

We sanded the high spots on the projector shroud and placed an angel eye ring underneath it, so that it glows through. The plastic shrouds are actually clear once your sand away the color off of it. Also had STI lenses installed as well, they were purchased from the retrofit source website.

Hope to mod my IS-F lights soon!
