So I spent Saturday morning making my 2008 USB ISF look nice. Plenty of Turtle Wax Platinum Spray Detailer to make it shine in the Fall sun. I'm cruising down Colorado Blvd and decide to go to Target to do some shopping. As usual, I go to the most remote area of the parking lot so no idiot in his clapped out PT Cruiser will park next to me and open his door into my ISF (its a sickness, I know). Lo and behold, there's a BMW M5 parked there that looks really nice all dropped down. This thing was on the deck! So, while my ISF is stock, I think it would look really good dropped just a bit, nothing radical. I have a Toyota Yaris and a 350Z, both with Tanabe springs and I like them a lot. So I do the search here and see the Tein, Eibach and Tanabe offerings. My question is which one do I go with? The most popular here seems to be the Tein. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

I have tein springs in my F and the drop is perfect imo. Ride comfort is good too.

 

Personally, I prefer Swift Springs. Eibach springs are pretty good also. I think Tein spring rates might be a little on the soft side. So far, I haven't found the actual spring rates of Eibach. They all pretty much have the same amount of drop which is 1" front and 0.5" in the rear.

I know a few buddies who are using Tein H-Tech springs, and they do like it compared to stock. Some are using Swift, as Terrance mentioned above. I remember seeing a dumped M5 at the Target right off the 210. Not sure if that was the one you were at.

 

Yes, I was at the Target out on East Colorado Blvd. It was a white M5 with white 20 inch wheels. Looked really good. Of course, not as good as an ISF!

 

If I were going to put springs on an IS F It would go in the following order: Swift, Eibach and Tein.

Tanabe does not make springs for the IS F but if they did I would put them next to or after Swift.

 

Are springs ok for the shocks/struts? Previous cars I've had would cause premature wear on the shocks and inturn make the ride worse over time

 

I got Tein H-techs... love the drop.. suprisingly no compromise on ride quality

My next question is: I'm going to get new tires fairly soon. If I drop the car with any of the above springs, will I have problems installing 275 or 285 30 19 rear or 245 35 19 front? I believe the previous owner of my ISF had the fender lips rolled. I appreciate everyone's input!

 

not sure if those tires be ok w/ H-techs.... i just went w/ stock size when my tires needed changing... figured i'd change tire size when i change rims... ... 225 40 fronts, 255 35 rear...

 

I have Eibach springs on the front and I have no complaints. I heard a lot of great things about Swift springs. You might want to look into them.

If you're putting 245 F and 285 R on stock rims, I don't think you will have a fender problem.

 

One of my buddies on here has a Blue F and doesn't have any problems. He's dropped and has upgraded tire widths (i believe 245/275), I doubt he's rubbing.
