Default Valentine One ... busted yet?

Just curious to see what everyone uses for your radar detector for the IS-F. Has anyone used Valentine One? If so, how do you like it? Have you gotten busted yet, or does it remain stellar?

You know this is my very next step ......

Thanks guys.

I highly recommend the Valentine 1 , I haven't been pulled over since I've owned it(2 years). I have one in the wife's car too....she's always in a hurry but no tickets yet

I havent gotten a speeding ticket for 4 years with my V1.. However, it may be luck, most of the troopers and cops around here have been using laser.. the V1 will pick it up, but the V1 picks it up when the laser has already hit your car. The only way to avoid laser is an expensive jammer, but they still recommend a radar detector with the laser jammer. I highly recommend the V1 for radar.

I’ve had my V1 since 00', so 11 years. I upgraded it in 07'. It works. You get used to where it falses. If you’re the only car on the road or at the lead of the pack, and get hit by radar instant on, there’s nothing you can do with any detector. A Jammer would be the only thing to save you there. Most of the time we drive in traffic and the cops don’t use their instant on to they’re advantage.

I do however see motorcycle and highway patrol on the side of the road pointing a gun at traffic and my V1 doesn’t do anything. I assume it’s a laser gun and I also assume if pointed it’s on, but I get no feedback from the V1. Every time I’ve seen them it’s on the opposite side of the freeway, so I guess it has to hit my car directly. One thing I’ve noticed about laser is that they have to be using it in a stationary method.

K40 Jammers, illegal in CA, V1 is legal no matter what the cops say, just can’t be attached to the windshield.

I've been using my V1 or over 10 years. I'm on my second actually since my first was stolen. I have NEVER received a speeding ticket since it was purchased.

I've had my V1 for over 10 years, and I've only gotten 1 speeding ticket during that time (not the V1's fault as I was paced by the CHP car). It's saved my butt several times as well. But I imagine, any high quality detector (i.e. Escort, etc.) will provide similar results. Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I have a Beltronics X65 (They are now owned by Escort but still operated separately). I have had zero tickets since I got it when I actually have it with me. I have gotten 3 when I haven't had it.

X2 - I checked out several on line reviews of radar detectors and they rated the Bel 65 as good or better that the Valentine 1. It's a couple hundred bucks less too.

V1 is a good investment and really works.

The latest version is a lot more sensitive than older versions, so it will also false more. There are ways to adjust that via programming, it's fairly straightforward.

There are other detectors out there with similar performance but the arrows are indispensable.

V1, been saved n number of times. Recent was yesterday, driving down on 280 south. V1 picked the bounded signal and there was a beep for 1 second. Pressed the brakes and saw the cop , he went after the Camry which was in the lane next to me. One bad thing is people will follow you if u have a V1.

I've had them (Valentine 1) for over 8 years in every car that I've owned. It has saved me lots of times over the years. I even take one on business trips where I have to drive a lot.

It is still a radar detector and not a police locator so you can still get caught if the cop is not using laser or radar and uses speed and distance to clock you. You have to use good judgement and observe your surroundings to reduce the risk of getting caught.

Had the V1 for 2 years. Busted once due to a sneaky cop who laser'ed me... those are pretty much unavoidable with strictly a detector, as they give instantaneous speeds, no time to slow down. Luckily, cops using a laser gun are pretty rare... other than that, I say the V1 is awesome!
