IS-F owners that have owned a Supra...
I'm looking to jump into an IS-F and don't have the garage space to keep everything so the MKiV is on the chopping block...
Am I making a mistake? For those that have crossed this road before I'd like to hear your Pros and cons.
Thanks for advice in advance!

I haven't sold my Supra. However, if I could make it a project car, I'd put the entire F suite of drivetrain and electronics in my Supra and call it better (except for the open diff).
There are lots of reasons to sell a MkIV right now - prices are only going to drop as it gets more difficult to repair the cars (parts are starting to go E code - no longer available, especially for left hand drive unique bits) and things like the HVAC seals are deteriorating. Ever notice the little foam chunks blowing out of the A/C? Those are the damper door seals. They're not available as parts, so if you want to fix it, you have to remove the dash and fabricate seals. The dash itself is likely curling and separating around the defroster vent (and why I bought a new dash in 2005). FWIW, when I bought my dash, there were 11 left in the world, and the first one showed up damaged, so by the time I got a good one, there were 9 left. The leather seats are likely pretty hard, even if you've been diligent with Lexol, and if you've put any miles on it, the foam in the seat is shot. Worst of all, mine has been mostly a garage queen since 2002, so if yours has spent more time in the sun, it will likely be worse.
So, selling it now is probably pretty near peak residual value (unless you've kept it stock and completely preserved - then collectors will be interested at very high prices).
I have the choice of driving the F and the Supra everyday. I drive the Supra about twice a month. As much as I enjoy driving the Supra, the F is a much better daily driver. If I had to make a choice, it would be keep the F, sell the Dawg.

So far everything has held together well because it's bee
Garaged for 80% of it's life, no rust fresh paint, dash and vents are still good. Probably why I'm having a tough decision knowing I will take a hit isn't helping.
And where do you see the value of the IS-F in 2 yrs time? For a 2008-09 w/ roughly 40,000mi.
I'll post up some pics..
Thanks again for the advice

Right now, I say around $40K for an 08 with 40K miles (including recent price increase due to Japan issue).
In 2013, I say less $30K since there will be more inventory of used due to age and then the most impact to value will be from the new redesign F in 2013.

I have two Supras. As much as I love the F, there is no way I would give up one of the Supras for the F. In addition to, but never in place of, if I have anything to say about it. Good luck with your decision.

Have to agree with my man here. If I had the choice the supra would stay. Toyota will never make another car like it honestly and even today almost 20years after the introduction of it, it still looks great and turns heads going down the road

My Supra is a hardtop. No saggy chassis here!
But regardless, the targas do sag, flex, and creak over time. Just one of the reasons I didn't ever entertain owning one.

Here are my two saggy chassis. Both are targas. I wasn't as fortunate as Lance in getting a rare hardtop, but nary a peep, squeak or leak in either one of my cars, and the black one I bought new in 1994.

Yeah, but your cars get better care than many children do....
Ken and I go way back. His cars are always top notch.
