Default Fog Light Question

I want the yellow fog light look. What kind of set up is in a stock ISF? Xenon or HID? I am thinking of just purchasing the bulbs and replacing them.

any help/suggestions?

the sock ISF has H11 bulbs, non-HID. You could either purchase a HID 3000K kit, or go with Piaa Yellow ION H11s (pictured), which is what I'll be purchasing soon.

Be careful of other yellow bulb brands becuase I've read some horror stories about the bulbs melting the housing and connections... but there are no issues with Piaa's to date.

http://www.autopartsdealer.com/piaa_..._content=rank1

seems to be the cheapest place selling them online, though I would check with some of the vendors here that me be willing to offer you even a better deal (I believe Nigel-JDMParts is one?)

good luck... I haven't pulled the trigger yet so let me know who you end up going with, lol.

How much of a pain in the a$$ is it to change the bulbs. Does the entire front bumper need to come off??

My recommendation would be to get Nokya H11 bulbs. They are the best yellow I have seen personally.

The easiest route if you wanna go yellow is to simply apply yellow protection film over the fog lights.

This would be the easiest route, but I do want to swap the bulbs out. Nokya is way cheaper compared to PIAA.

how did Nokya work out for the ones who has them?

I have been running them for 6 months with no issue. I also have them on my TSX and they have been good for the last 4 years. I have been extremely happy with them personally.

I personally think PIAA's yellow color is superior to Nokya's, but that's a personal preference at this point.

That being said, I ran Nokya 6000K as DRL bulb on my IS300 for 2 years with no issues.

I've had my HID 3K bulbs for over a year now with no problems. I also have the yellow overlay sticker on the housing which enhances the appearance with the light on or off. Make sure if you go the HID route to get the 35W kit. No bumper needs to be removed.

I installed these last week and it is the exact yellow I was looking for. They were 80w and so far so good. Can anyone verify that a housing/harness melted with these?

I do not know why they advertise them as 80watt because if you look at the actual fine printing on the plastic base of the bulb it says 55watts.

Odd. But that makes me feel better about having them installed.
