Are these the same steps if I just wanna remove the cupholder lid or can it be done without taking out all the gears?

Thanks for the detailed write-up. I know most people who would not bother with the spill, but I too would not want a coffee or any liquid staining any part, even if it's on the inside of the console where I or anyone else would not be able to see.

Im also curious about this as a penny dropped behind the lid and now mine dosent open all the way properly. My tim hortons coffee no longer fits properly. I have tried tweezers and all that...

It's the same for anything related to the cup holder or the cup holder lid. Complete disassembly isn't always necessary. Stop when you've solved your problem.

These instructions are complete so you can do as much (or as little) as you need.

Heck, you could put the thing in the dishwasher after pulling it all apart....

Thank you for the help.

I am a new member and joined the forum to ask- I broke the slide shifter and noticed it is the same steps. Is it just as easy to take the old one out? I am about to do it

do you mean where the piece of plastic is around the shift ****? yes, it slides right out once you lift the center console.
