Default Interior question...

Had my F for about a year now and truly love it...the only thing I do not love is the silver carbon fiber interior trim (I know many folks do but it is my car eh?)...

So my question is what options do I have for changing the center console and control surrounds on the doors?

I'd love to hear from and maybe see what others have done...

Thanks.

Your only other option would be black carbon from L-Tuned. http://l-tunedparts.com/model/struct...d=140&cat_id=3

Or you can paint over the silver carbon, I guess?

Am I missing it, cause I don't see black carbon replacements for the console and window switches in that link.

L-tuned can get these for you, if I am not mistaken.

Or you can wrap it in 3M matte black CF, but obviously it's not real CF. There are actually quite a few owners that don't like the silver CF, surprisingly. IMHO it's beautiful.

yeah, i thought it looks pretty good myself. a darker CF look isn't bad, but it is a driver's preference. lems.jp has some great products.

there are custom water transfer applications becoming more popular/available now that allows you to have basically any image you can imagine applied to your trim panels.

here is a company that does W.T. wood and carbon styles on your panels:
http://www.bitrim.com/customdipping.htm

im not affiliated, just googled water transfer trim and this came up.

Default Thanks...

The water transfer idea is a good one....that stuff looks good and from my experience in other applications it is very tough.

I'm nearly positive all of their products are complete replacement. Check out the link below from the 2IS forum

Any 2IS pieces from the 2006 - 2008 series will work. I was seriously looking to get a set of the birdseye maple wood pieces - I like them a lot better than the CF. Swapping them out is pretty easy.

Cash flow. I'll be doing it shortly. I work in sales and bonuses are not guaranteed so there are times when I have to be patient and wait for the money to come in. I don't do the credit card balance thing, I pay it every month in full, so I'll just be patient and get it when the money is there.
