Smile led fogs

a few quick questions if anyone can assist...

ive seen a few threads with led fogs, and they look great!

I hear they dont output as much light as hid
but thats not much of a concern to me

I just want them to match my headlights

my main issue is do they require a ballast?
id get hids but i just dont wanna go to the ballast mounting trouble
id rather just pop in a led bulb and be done with it if thats possible

can anyone link me to one they would recommend????
please and thanks

Led bulbs are definitely not bright, it lights up the foglight housing beautifully but thats about it.. I have hid fogs in my F and its not even hard looking for a space to mount the ballast at all, just get the small ballast hid kit,, its literally the size of maybe 8-10 credit cards stacked on top of each other!! and to make life easier, remember ZipTie is your best friend,,, its so much easier to just ziptie that tiny ballast onto a wire harness behind the foglights. Its so easy to match your headlights nowadays cause they sell so many applications of aftermarket hid, whether its 4300k, 6,8,9,10,or 30k... dont waste money on the led fogs in my opinion.. just get the hid fogs and you will be glad you did, the road is sooo much brighter at night time too.. I did 3k in my fogs for that old signature lexus look... oh, and to answer your question,, the led bulb is just like a regular bulb,, no ballast or anything like that, just straight pop it in like a regular bulb...

if u want visibility and brightness go hid. but if ur car is for show, led would be nice. i didn't install my hid yet due to the cold weather. i dont want to be outside installin it.

Teo,, it takes a realistic 15 mins the most to put in the hid for the fogs,, just cut your wheels all the way and I think 3-4 bolts for the fender liners and then you can snake your hands in... cake to do. Even for show, do hid for the fogs,, I dont see how led can look nicer than hid for show... only advantage led have over hid is you can leave it on all night and wont drain your battery at all... lol

looks great
are those 6000 fogs?

im thinking 6000 hid fogs
so they match nice with the headlights
i hear 6000 is a pretty close match

im also weary about going hid because i read this
When you switch to a Xenon HID Kit, your lights draw less current and the sensors then think you lights are broken and turn off, or flicker. With the addition of a "Decoder" or CAN-Bus Ballast, this is taken care of

is this true, will i need a canbus ballast?

and I think 10000 blue would be nice on the f, does anyone have a pic with those installed?
or are most staying around 6000?

Nope you dont need canbus, no they dont flicker, nope there is no bulb out indicator on the dash. heres the same bulbs at a different angle,, if you pay close attention to the first picture that I have posted, you will see that the floor is yellowish color too..

I'd been using MobileHID 3k kits on my IS-F with no issues, until now - had to take it out to bring in to the dealership to replay my right side headlights. Though they did find out that I had aftermarket parts in ther.

The only problem with MobileHID kit is that there way TOO many wires to connect here and there. It's kind of a pain, unless there's an alternative to lesser wires.

thats not a problem with the 3k hid kit then,,,, you only had to take it out cause you thought the dealer was gonna give you a problem with aftermarket stuff when they had to warranty your headlight. I brought my F into the Lexus dealer with the K and N intake and the hid fogs and the Blitz throttle controller and they didnt say a word at all about anything.. A few of the guys at the service area actually liked and commented on my big 3.5inch decepticon emblem that I had on my trunk!!

and why no canbus ballast??

i just dont want any issues to arise later?
so would it be a good idea for me?
