^ $22? considering that the escort and valentine use telephone jacks, you can make yourself.

imho, it's a simple DIY. short of going into details on how i made mine (and another 2is member's), you just need to know which wires to tap and how to tap.

the DIY guide shows a lot of options, but for (non-wire cutting) hardwiring there's really only one way.

i'd share more info, but then i'd be giving away my "secret".

Any rattling from your setup blitz_714? Seems like if the roads got rough that would rattle against the mirror

no sir , its every sturdy , the mount from the guy mike3348 and has 2 nuts and bolts on each side to tighten up... i only did that with my hand.... and already very sturdy, u can always tighten up with tools but that i dont think its necessary... love it oh yeah and i tapped on the rear view mirror for direct wire too.

The BlendMount kit was a bit more expensive at $49 not including shipping, and I didn't like how the Stationary Z Mount sold on the countryjoycrafts site positioned the radar detector ahead of the rear view mirror in the pics they have on their site.

IMO I felt that the mount I ordered did what the basic BV1 BlendMount kit did at a lower price and had good reviews by a few members on here.

Actually the Blendmount one is $69.00, not $49

This makes Mike3348's for $32 shipped even more enticing!

There are 2 Blendmount mount kits, the non adjustable BV1 for $49 and the adjustable BV1-HINGE for $69. They only show the adjustable on their website now though.

But you are right Mike's mount does the job for the right price.

I can't remember how much is labor and how much is parts, but the overall cost was $1495 for the Laser Interceptor Quad, and $2200 for the Passport 9500Ci (which includes the Escort ZR4 laser shifters as well).

I would guess the labor component is $400 for the Laser Interceptor and $700 for the Passport 9500Ci. They could install the Passport for $400 as well but the mirror adds $300. Overall it was about 2 full days of work.

Also if you are buying laser interceptors, you should go to a dealer who has their own lidar guns for testing purposes. A lot of places do a shoddy installation and the interceptors don't work properly. Mine are 100% effective because they were aligned to perfection by testing against 5 lidar guns.

I don't have an ORANGE wire on my 08 IS-F with the mirror fix (not that I think the fix changes things since the harness comes from the car). Here is a picture of what color's I have. There is a blue, red, white w/ black stripe, black, and pink.
