Default got a custom system installed..... need help

I took the F in to get a sub. i went with a morel ultimo 12, zapco amp, and a cache 08 switch. the bass sounds good but on the inside it doesnt sound like i expected at all. Im getting alot of popping, and the rear speakers cut in and out and the midrange doesnt turn on at all. I dont think its the wiring but maybe the tuning? at least Im hoping its the tuning... please help

you'll probably have more luck with your question in the 2IS forum, as more folks there have upgraded their system. Most F owners here have the ML and are unlikely to have done anything with it. Audio-wise the 2IS should be identical to the F.

i have a 12" alpine type r within a vented box with m500 amp all connected to a hi/lo crossover and bass control ****. i have no issues with the rest of the ML system. i even leave the middle piece down and the trunk access open to allow more sound to come through.

i had a friend at best buy install it, you need to have someone else see what wrong.

okay... i took the car for a second opinion at Fry's and the guys over there said looks like a simple wire job. the ran the wire to the stock amp then to the zapco to the crossover out to the speakers. if worst comes to worst they have to rewire the car.

i called up my installer he said no problem bring it monday and they will be able to fix it.

*fingers crossed*

UPDATE!!!!

my installer took care of my problem.... all speakers work and the bass kicks hard. i was really happy with the outcome the wiring was fine all it needed was tuning from the aftermarket amp which he did on his laptop. he tweaked the crossover a lil to tune the inside speakers since all of them were still running on the factory amp and they rewired it to the zapco. all the speakers work except for the rear deck mid ranges which I already blew.... LMAO!! he turned those inky dinky ones off... really happy with the outcome... when i turn my car in after my lease I will sell the custom box it fits real nicely in the side pocket trunk... im sure you wanna see pics... ill get them up asap

Yes... Pics please

How much did everything weigh? I want to get a sub in my car too, but I want to still have ample trunk space and not something that weighs a ton!

Hey, I was actually having the same problem in mine. I might have to show this to my installer. I dont have my bass **** installed yet, but going to soon. But my box that I got custom made is enormous! So that MIGHT be my problem. I should be getting a new box put in to and if that doesnt fix the problem, then thanks for posting and helping a fellow member out!! Lol
