PS2 are not equal to PS2.

Story: Had originaly bridgestones on (came from factory). When finished them, I got just a regular PS2 just from the shelf (not special compound type, because thought it was BS). PS2 from shelf were skidding so much on street, even outside temperatures where more then high...finished them quicker then expected. Ordered those special compound PS2 just to make myself sure, for all time, that it is BS, and you know what?! THEY WHERE LIKE DAY AND NIGHT from regular PS2. No skid at all.

It might sound like: "How the hell can you compare which are skidding more or less and etc".
This is how I tested them all for many times that air temperatures and various things like asfalt differs won't effect.
Just anytime, when I got to traffic light in first possition, I would turn of TRC and on green light, push pedal to the floor. Nor Bridgestones nor PS2 (special compounds ones) would skid more that would make them burn...
Though PS2 regular ones, will always start burning from in the spot and making a hell big cloud of smoke. It is ok if u are up to this, but this you can do with good tires, hold a brake pedal.

^^^ I think Bridgestone and Michelin came up with special compounds for the IS-F tires, both on the RE050 and PS2 respectively. So basically what you say is true, getting a PS2 from a tire dealer or getting it from the Lexus dealer will provide a different driving experience.

Michelin developed the PS2 specifically for Lexus, for use on the IS F and sold the compound design to Bridgestone and they developed the RE050. I don't know what kind of distribution we're seeing here but the F's in my neck of the woods all seem to be coming with PS2s from the factory.

When spring rolls around, seeing as I'm putting mine away from the winter very, very soon due to the freezing temperatures we've been getting up here (had frost on my windshield for the first time this year yesterday, major pain in the ***), I'll be playing the cheapo and getting a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW... I'll be letting you guys know how that goes.
