How about some Falkens? They are pretty much the standard for aftermarket setups and they are just as inexpensive as Kumhos and Hankooks. I'm running them and I like them a lot.

Hard to place values on PS2 when it gives softer ride, great performance, easier to balance, no dead spot from overnight parking and most of all, wear out evenly throughout the life of the tire in a normal driving condition.

I have nitto invo, 255/35 rear and 235/35 front. The invo grip really well, and are a touch louder but not like other nitto's. A person with an F rode and didn't notice any difference in noise levels. they were reasonably priced.

I went to Tire Rack and saw the following:

Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 (Max Performance Summer)
Treadware 280

Kumho Ecsta SPT (Ultra High Performance Summer)
Treadware 320

Money is a bit tight right now so I'd rather not pay for the PS2's unless you all have information that leads me to believe I should.

Thanks!
I think it was Car & Driver last month that reviewed performance tires. The Ventus V12 finished real well.

I have Hankook Ventus V4s on my ES300 and have been very happy with them.

I have the Vredestein Ultracs on rear in a 275/ 30 / 19 on stock wheel and plan on replacing my fronts when they wear out with the same tire. Very reasonably priced also .
Quite and smooth with a 280 tread wear rating.

I have new PS2's on my car now, but honestly don't think they are worth the premium price. My initial set lasted me almost 20k miles and I'm hoping I can get another 20k miles on my second set, but after that I'm going to try the NT05's on my stock rims for the warm months and have a dedicated winter setup for the rest of the time.

I have like brand new tires on my IsF and I am about to take them off and order the Hankook 112. I read the car and driver Magazine and it does seem like the Hankooks have really good ratings. My car has 2500 miles on it and I dunno what to do with my oem tires. I want to get the 275s in the rear also thats why I wanna take off my oem tires and sell them, Are they worth anything with 2500 miles on them?

Let us know how you like the Hankooks when you get them...

Just to clarify that the C+D comparo was budget tires vs. the benchmark PS2s. Other than the benchmark, they didn't test a single tire over ~$130 or so and the average price was close to $100. Of course this makes the test more valid as far as the OP is concerned, but it's not like they tested even midrange tires.

Personally, I don't think this is an area anyone should skimp on, good magazine performance metrics or not. You bought a $60,000 performance car and want to save a couple hundred on tires?

I'll probably go with the Neova AD08's (or maybe a new version at that time?) when I need a replacement.

You're right, once people try them they love them. Many of my Lexus friends are trying them!

If a budget tire gives me 95% of a PS/2 for less than half the price, then yeh, I am going budget if I am replacing every 15-20k anyway. That's called value. If I don't like 'em, can always go back...

My vote goes to the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08's... Can't wait to get them when my current tires wear out.
