Weight Reduction ???
So, I was bored and trying to put off other projects I have piled up so I took the time to weigh a few of the easy pieces to take off for a track day. I used a sensitive baby scale that is accurate to 0.5 oz.
Easy track day weight reduction:
- 10 oz (0.625 lbs) - 1st aid kit
- 5.5 oz (0.34375 lbs) - Cargo net
- 4 lbs 11 oz (4.6875 lbs) - Trunk mat
- 2 lbs 8.5 oz (2.53125 lbs) – spare tire floor cover
- 8 lbs 12 oz (8.75 lbs) – Jack and tools
- 37 lbs 11.5 oz (37.71875 lbs)- Spare tire, spare tire screw, & two foam inserts (HEAVY AS HELL)
- 11 oz (0.6875 lbs) – D.S. trunk plastic tray that carries first aid kit
- 8 oz (0.5 lbs) – P.S. trunk plastic tray that covers Amp
- 1 oz (0.0625 lbs) – 3 plastic caps in truck
- 2 lbs 1 oz (2.0625 lbs) – both back seat floor mats
- 2 lbs 3 oz (2.1875 lbs) - P.S. floor mat
- 1 lb 15 oz (1.9375 lbs) – D.S. floor mat
- 3 lbs 11.5 oz (3.71875 lbs) – Engine cover
- 1 oz (0.0625 lbs) – cigarette lighter coil (
)
- TOTAL: -66 lbs (rounded)
Add that to the weight savings that can be found below (on my to do list):
- FIGS 2pc front rotors (-14 lbs rotational)
- FIGS 2pc rear rotors (-9 lbs rotational)
- BC coilovers (-10 lbs)
- BC Forged RS40 wheels (18x9.5 +45 & 18x11 +60) (-24 lbs rotational)
- 275/35R18 & 285/35R18 Michelin PSS (+ 4 lbs rotational +50mm front & +30mm rear tire width)
Borla Catback exhaust (-16 lbs +20whp) (already done)
Odyssey PC680T battery (-26.5 lbs)
Mods Total: -95.5 lbs (-43 lbs rotational mass)
Total with planned Mods & track day parts removal = approx -161.5 lbs (-43lbs rotational mass)
FYI, I just ordered a set of 10mm wheel spacers. I am going to take my 275/30R19 PSS tires with19x9 +55 rear wheels and mount them on the front with those spacers. This will essentially make it a 19x9 +45 wheel in front. I will drive around to see if a 275/30R19 (same size as 275/35R18) will fit in front with a +45 offset. if it doesn't, I will get 255/40R18 tires instead of 275/35R18. I think it might just fit though, since the 275mm sizes are 0.5" shorter than stock, which should give it a little additional clearance.

Most of the owners are forgetting the #1 on the list of weight saving are the drivers themselves lolz . That is the most important
leaner, healthier, stamina, physically and mentally are ready for any kind of racing lolz

For my 2010 F, the fronts weighed in at 14 lbs each side and 15.5 lbs in the back. The BC Coils w/ swift springs came in at 10.5 lbs, all around. The total savings ended up at 17 lbs.
