Not sure how hot those get with heavy / spiritied driving? Compared to the actual exhaust has to be a lot less but probably still gets pretty warm. I've got a pyrometer to test if but know no one local with an F to test with.
Post details of that paint would you please.....
TNX, DFl.
To my mind you need the high temp paint. Those tips get quite hot.

Hey Colin
I have used this brand many times with good results.
For auto and non-auto use in my experiences.
But I never used this flat black finish on exhaust tips.
They also sell many other brands that are more specific for auto use and high heat.
For painting these Exhaust Tips / Diffusers via DIY, you may want to consider a black high heat paint with a semi gloss or satin finish.
Aesthetically, flat black might be more prone to water marks or stains after a while.

Thanks for the tips, Joe......I'm heading out tomorrow to get an O2 sensor removal tool -- I'll pick up some high heat semi gloss while I'm there......
BTW, My exhaust is in Windsor right now and scheduled to arrive at my front door on Wednesday.....

This tip is so lame. I could make this in college.
Drawn, stamped and cut.
What would you expect, machined from billet? I'm not at all surprised. I'd bet you'll find the same thing on The Veyron, any modern Lambo, the Audi R8, and the Ferrari California.

Just for kicks!!! (sorry no inside shots of Tips for these cars)
My sales rep went on a trip that Lexus Canada hosted for the education of the ISF for all the Ontario sales reps (like a workshop). They learned all the little details of the vehicle (that way prepping them for any kind of questions that would arise from an ignorant to a well educated customer interested in a high end sports car). He loaned me a book that he was given, with all this information of why they designed certain things a specific way. One of the highlights was the quad exaust is done in that way (the exaust tips aren't actually attatched to the quad ends) to help reduce "back pressure".
