I want to paint my Calipers Blue....the same color blue that is around the F logo. Anyone done this? any pics?

 

If anyone has done this...where do I get the paint to match the Blue F logo?..thanks

Ultrasonic Blue paint code= 8U1.

I only know because I was considering it...but changed my mind to something nicer.

Your calipers are beautiful! May I ask, did they have to remove the calipers from the car and even rebuild them after powder coating them?...Darshana S...

Well according to Lexus, it's $832/caliper, so be very careful where you take them to be painted. Because if deassebly causes failure that's an expensive fix. Still thinking about diong it though however...

I've never done this, but I wanted to pass along a bit of advice that the engineers at Brembo gave me. The advised me to NEVER powdercoat a Brembo caliper (they themselves don't powdercoat their calipers, they paint them). Brembo calipers are not designed to be rebuilt, and the extreme heat that the powdercoating process requires could damage the components of the caliper, negatively affecting both its functionality and durability. Just an FYI for you guys considering this...

Good point Javy, I'm glad I didn't rush into this mod. Yes powdercoating is good an all that but you need to look into side effects.

So here's a conundrum - Lexus sells a rebuild kit for the F's calipers for $24.90 (MSRP). So if they're not to be rebuilt (and there is a complete procedure in the FSM), what the heck is Lexus doing selling rebuild kits and detailing the procedures in their service manual?

Ah...answered my own question - the procedure specifically says DO NOT REMOVE THE PISTONS FROM THE CALIPERS. The seals are just the boots, not the piston seals.

 

So if you shouldn't powder coat them, then just spray paint them via DIY or professionally by a body/paint shop...

I agree, Powder coating is nice an all, but some times it adds 1-2 mm of thickness on material or components that do not have much clearance to begin with.
