Default interesting run in

Well.. M3 drivers already hate me cause of my license plate.. (M3 LOL).. but I happened to pull up in front of a black M3 and just minded my business... the light turned green.. and went off... i was much farther ahead of him (we werent racing).. and ran into another red light...

he pulls to the left of me and blows his horn... so i lower my windows... and said something like "wow.. thats the nicest sounding lexus ive ever heard, is it stock or what did you do to it" so i continue telling him about the custom exhausts, the cutouts and intake..

anyways. i guess all m3 owners arnt a$$holes

THIS is rare. I got hated on in my E46M3 by a another M3, body stye before the E46. Im glad I dont own a M3 or a BMW anymore. Most the BMW drivers I see on the road are the worst drivers ever.

^^^ That's a pretty broad statement. I know a lot of great BMW drivers...

ps, typically (IMO) BMW drivers are typically better than Lexus drivers.. Until very recently, Lexii weren't known for being drivers cars.

Interesting run in. I personally haven't had any problems with either BMW or Lexus drivers. There are always bad drivers no matter the type of car they drive

Fortunately, I haven't run into any bmw drivers that live up to their stereotype. With that said, there is some truth to the generalizations about them, especially on the web. If you browse through the bmw forums, they are definitely more "elitist" than your average Lexus owners. Due to some excellent marketing, it seems like a lot of them really buy in on the whole "ultimate driving machine" deal. In my experience, the Lexus community is more chill and open-minded.

^^ I'm sure some M3 owners say the same thing about us. Maybe we should stop "hating" owners of others cars...

I've had more issues with IS's tailing me and pushing the issue rather than other brands. Go figure.

Have had an M BMW before and currently own a '97 540i, '03 540iT, '05 RL, and an '08 IS350.

I dont think most Bimmer drivers are arrogant or elitist at all. They definitely spend much more money on their cars and the associated maintenance that comes with owning German cars, but that doesnt translate into the descriptions they are routinely given. The Marque certainly lives up to its name as the Ultimate Driving Machine, and perhaps with that in mind most drivers of these vehicles really enjoy the experience of driving a car that totally communicates what is going on to your much more than perhaps any other. I can get into a 3 series, drive it 1400 miles at a time, not be very tired, feel great, and have thoroughly enjoyed the time behind the wheel for those hours.
BMW also offers alot of different driving schools all the time to help make the owners better drivers and more aware of what the vehicles can and cant do.
I dont think many people I know fit the stereotype as much as they fit the stereotype of being more "confident" behind the wheel of their vehicle than perhaps alot of drivers of other marques.
That said, I just love the IS-F I am excited what Toyota has accomplished this year in Formula-1 racing for one, and look forward to seeing much of their r&d there trickle down more to these vehicles. DanF

M3 owners have the "335i (or 135i) pwnz joo" crowd ******* them so it isn't just limited to us.

On the general topic, I have several friends and a son who own Bimmers; we're all enthusiasts therefore no disrespect is tolerated other than good-natured ribbing. I live in an area where there are scads of Bimmers on cheap leases (thankfully going the way of the dodo) so running into the occasional ****head is inevitable but not very common. I'm personally seeing more aggression from young drivers of Mustangs and fartpipe-equipped Civics/Scions/Corollas/Neons than anyone else.

I totally agree. The unfortunate part of this is that the mustang will take us in the first 100ft.
