Default First post... questions and Hello All!

Hey guys its my first post here on the forum and just want to say whats up to everyone! I am currently Driving a 2007 BMW 335i coupe with Dinan flash. The car is great! 6spd very fast car.. I am looking to add to the fleet and have ruled out the M3 because I already have the 335i and dont want another bmw in the mix.

I have a question about the XM radio setup on the ISF. My dealer is going to connect the xm radio but how do they do it? How is the sound quality? Do I have anything to worry about as far as that goes?

I am almost ready to pull the trigger but am having some second thoughts bc I don't need this car at all, already having the 335i. I love cars and am in a position in my life 24, where I have the job where I can afford both payments without struggling. The only reason getting this vehicle is totally a WANT.... your thoughts would be appreciated...

Also, give me your thoughts on your isf's
pros/cons
Thanks guys!!!!
And Hello to all!!

its simple...trade in your 335 and get the IS-F... because trust me, after driving the F you wont even want to take the 335 out for a ride... I mean dont get me wrong, there both nice cars...its just the F is in a class of its own... just my 0.02.

Too many pros, no cons Personally I love everything in the F from the ride to the speed, shifting, looks, fit and finish, reliability, seats, exhaust and intake sound, I like it all and have no complaints or regrets what-so-ever.

Totally, both cars are compact luxury sport sedans, you don't need both, that would be a bad economic decision. But getting the isf would be a decision you would not regret, try it and you will see. And put your extra cash into a house downpayment or a retirement plan... You know cars are the worst investments you can make, even worst for german cars...

+1. Get rid of the 335i. The TT+chip is great on the 335i, but once you drive the F, it'll be hard to step back into the bmw. And it doesn't make too much sense to have 2 new cars in a similar segment..?

I have the XM radio connected (Not by choice), and it sounds pretty decent, but not great. There are no problems, but the UI is a bit clunky compared to the rest of the nav/control system.

Have you test drove it yet? You for sure want to test drive it, after that, I don't think you'll have any questions about getting one! The sound in the car isn't bad at all. I don't know how they hook up the XM but I have it mine along with the Mark Levinson sound upgrade. It sounds pretty good imo

I'm eyeballing the XM module myself.

It goes in the rear of the vehicle, over the right rear fender underneath all the trunk liner stuff. In other words, buried like any other OEM module. In fact it goes in the same bracket as the keyless entry system.

The F is pretty cool and a fun daily driver, not sure how much fun the 335 is going to be after you get into the F.

I wish I had garage space, I would have hung onto my Corvette convertible for a few more years. I do miss the stick, but especially the ragtop.

Thats what I am afraid of. I have an 05 CTS-V and don't know if I could go an extended period of time without a manual.

believe me the 335i is DEF a fun car, especially with the 6MT. Run consistant 12.9s or so with this setup

335i + Tune is quick - but when I rode in one, even with aftermarket suspension, it was very soft feeling and my butt was sliding around a bit in the seat. The IS-F was designed ground up to be ready to track w/o further mods. The nice thing is that there is no limp modes, no brake fade, no oil cooler, no HPFP failures, and fuel economy is impressive and reliability is really high. And, no warrantee issues - but of course, you know that because you went Dinan instead of V or JB.

HOWEVER, if I were you, I'd still wouldn't get it. If you already have a 400hp entry level coupe, why don't you just save the money?

Hell, if I were 24 and already owned a house and my retirement was all setup, I'd probably buy a Harley - at least they don't depreciate so damn fast like a car. Get a Rolex too - mine went up 25% in cost in 2 years (due to weak dollar). Go take your girl to Bora Bora and Morea or Alaska and Hawaii etc. Looking back into my 20s, I'm soooo glad I had a chance to travel with my girlfried/wife before kids, home, work, etc.

Well, if your house and retirement plan is set up and you don't want to give up on fun, get a Tesla, I know it's not available yet but be patient. I was blown away by the test drive. The only issue I have with that car (Tesla) is that it might lower your life expectancy.

I believe car marketers ( in our segment) are doing a very good job making us want the latest and finest late model of their creation. I am amazed that you feel such an urge to get the isf because it outdates/outruns your 335. I know the isf is cool now but it will get surpassed sooner or later, probably sooner, because that's what those who drive the market want. Now a days cars become obsolete faster than before, it's really scary. To be honnest I keep my cars usually a long time and consequently never enjoy that "new and best" in category feeling for long. So you are not alone. Hang in there and enjoy your 335 while it's still under warranty.

The 335i whenever I drive it gives me that great feeling... However since I am still young and love all different car was thinking of getting the ISF now because who knows what will bring in the future as far as marriage and or family. You only live once. Why not enjoy myself now as much as I can while still being responsible and saving for retirement and saving for a rainy day.

Live now.... Who knows what will bring later.
I Don't have many hobbies. Just cruising in my car is one of my main hobbies. Sports is another one HUGE Mets fan!!

I Have the dealer calling me off the hook for this Starfire Pearl ISF. I want to pull the trigger but also hoping that the thrill of wanting it now is really what I like most lol...
