Default Pleasantly surprised

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to say that I was very impressed with the IS-F. I test drove it this weekend and liked the car for the following reasons:

- Luxurious (black on black)
- handling (corners very flat)
- steering (nicely weighted)
- Sport mode (shifts great .. even in auto mode)
- The MOTOR! (love that grunt around 3000rpm)

I also test drove the M3 sedan.. I wasn't as impressed... felt numb, heavy and somewhat disconnected.

I'm wondering how the Mercedes C63AMG will feel.. it will be interesting to test it.

I think that the IS-F combines luxury, practicality, performance and FUN in one great package.

Steve

Did you end up buying one? I guess not. I actually saw three ISF at the dealer during my 350 delivery and I asked how's the sale to the sales guy. It's not selling well because of slow economy and $60k price tag is not easy to swallow.

If you're trying to test drive, I suggest you have somewhat of a good story going in, clean yourself up, dress reasonably well and mention that you are trying to decide between the IS-F and the M3, C63, or a car in the similar price range.

Treating you seriously is all about perception, if you walk the walk and talk the talk, they'll hand you the keys.

I test drove my buddies IS-F last night and I must say I too was pleasantly surprised. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. The intake note above 3800 rpm is music to my ears, handling is flat, very comfortable and accelerates like a champ. This car definitely has a split personality between luxury and sport and I love it.

I agree about the split personalities - it really is a great characteristic of this car - put it in drive (w/o sport mode) and its great for commuting and saving some gas - put it in sport and manual and it is a completely different beast.

I still don't know why I keep reading bad things about the 'non-compliance' of the supension .. I've taken several long drives on many different types of roads and it felt just fine to me.
