1000 Mile Change
Has anyone told the Dealer they want synthetic oil (Mobil 1 or equal)at the 1000 mile change.

is it mandatory to change the oil at 1000 miles? it doesnt say anything in the manual..or is it just something good to do for the car?

It ain't mandatory! I'll be doing oil changes every 3000 miles.

I did mine at 500 miles, changed to Mobil 1. I wanted to switch to synthetic right away.

Just did the 1000 mile service today. I also had them put in a new filter and I provided them with Royal Purple oil.
I'm somewhat surprised that the 0W20 full synthetic oil that Lexus recommends for the LS isn't also the default for the IS-F but....
