Default IS-F engine made by Yamaha?

I read an article somewhere, either on magazine or internet that IS-F engine is engineered by Yamaha? I remember the article keeps saying the Yamaha engine blah blah blah. Keep repeating that Yamaha word.

Is this true? Coz I heard Toyota engine is not all made byToyota, some made by Yamaha actually

the engine itself is made by toyota... it's the same engine block found on the LS460, but it's been stroked to increase displacement... now the heads are manufactured/engineered and tuned by yamaha for flow and sound...

It is my understanding that the engine is engineered and built by Toyota and that Yamaha "assisted" Lexus in designing the cylinder heads. That's a good thing. Yamaha's experience in cylinder head design and high performance racing valve trains is quite extensive.

Yamaha has been instrumental in the tuning of Toyota engines from as early as the classic 2000 GT sports car. All the "G" head variants of Toyota engines have Yamaha engineering behind it. The IS-F's 2UR-GSE is one of many in Toyota/Yamaha developed engines. Yamaha also has part in manufacturing the wood trim in the IS250/350.

I think the Yamaha thing really helps the credibility of the IS-F. They are experts in what they do and it's very impressive that Toyota went to them.

Who cares, Yamaha is a very reputable company. Company's like Toyota sometimes need a bit of help to get the most power out of their engines. Does not make Toyota look bad at all.

Toyota and Yamaha mutually own each other. Yamaha has practically been Toyota's in-house tuner for a long time. Nothing wrong about it.

the 4age and 3sgte engines in the MR2 had heads tuned by Yamaha as well. Even the ford taures SHO in the early 90's used Yamaha to build their heads.
