Gt-r V Is-f

From what I've been reading, the GT-R's will be built to order at MSRP. If a dealer happens to have one in the showroom, markups are most likely going to occur on that vehicle.
Unfortunately, Nissan does not place the same markup restrictions on its dealers as Lexus.

Oh, and regarding rear seat room, as another poster mentioned, the rear seat room is probably similar to that of the Infiniti G37. So rear seat space is probably in this order, IS-F > GT-R > 911 Turbo, with the widest gap being between the GT-R and the 911.

The GT-R is a full second faster on the 1/4 mile at 11.7. A full second at 100+ mph speeds is a big distance!
100 miles/hour is the same as 146.6 ft/sec. As you can see in a race the GT-R would be well over 150ft+(roughly 10+ car lengths) ahead of the IS-F!
Perhaps the 149.1 trap is wrong but it can't be 119.1 either as the IS-F is 114. Perhaps 129.1?

There most likely will be a markup but that's just the dealers being greedy. It's really unfortunate because the dealers are capitalizing on all the hard work Nissan did to make a spectacular car at a spectacular price. I hope Nissan has some say on what their car can be sold at and can smack those dealers into place!
It might also be a good idea to get in on a pre-order. Put a deposit down and sign a contract stating what model/options/price. Of course this information isn't out just yet but it will be soon.
In either case, the prices will drop to MSRP once the initial hype is gone.

btw the 0-60 in 3.5 sec and 1/4 in 11.7 are manufacturers estimates. i highly doubt Nissan will publish the best possible time a GTR can achieve as an estimate. Porsche states the 911 Turbo can do 0-60 in 3.7 and I think the lowest I ever saw was 3.2. I'm am pretty sure that the GTR's best performance can match this and I would assume 1/4 can be as fast as 11.2 - 11.4.

Dealer's suck. Potential buyers need to pull a NY Yankees and stick an A-Rod into these dealers. Don't buy it at the jacked up prices, and wait until they beg and drop the prices. I know this won't happen, because Jay Leno will pay anything for a car...

Price
RS4 $69k base, $81k tested
M3 $62k base, $70k tested
C63 $63k base, $73k tested
GT-R $69k base , $71k premium
Performance(0-60, 1/4 mile):
RS4 4.5, 13.1@108
M3 4.3, 12.8@113
c63 3.9, 12.3@116
GT-R 3.5, 11.7@149
GT-R annihilates all of the above. The ONLY car that can give the GT-R a run for it's money is the Corvette Z06 and Dodge Viper. The next car after that would be well in the 6 digit range like the Porsche 911 Turbo ($150k).
It has also been confirmed that there will be a lightweight version with even more power! Wow!
The GT-R is truly going to shake everyone up!

The GT-R is simply a beast, always has been. Funny thing is the IS will offer a more PURE feel, as its RWD and N/A (even with the automatic) compared to the techo marvel GT-R with AWD, DSG and a tt V-6.
The average driver will be able to go faster in the GT-R than the IS-F b/c of the AWD. The IS will feel more rewarding as you master that beast with the VDIM off.
Both are sensational and cater to different needs.
IS-F for M-F and GT-R for the weekends!!

For the price and performance GT-R all the way. You can give the GT-R some sound insulation and reupolster the cabin with nicer leathers to equal the others but to make the others perform as good as the GT-R will be harder. The GT-R isn't just a weekend track monster. The designers have said this is a car that you can drive comfortably daily.

EXACTLY right! I was about to make the point that the GTR and the IS-F are entirely different cars that are being marketed to customers whose automotive ambitions are not similar. Without being too specific in terms of age demographic, there's a cut-off point where someone would look ridiculous driving a GTR. Not that the GTR is a lesser or greater car than the IS-F, but that it's a car that's better suited to a younger person. I believe that many individuals who could afford the GTR will purchase something along the line of the IS-F, RS4, or M3/5 instead, because of their age and/or profession. The reason that so few GTRs are being targeted for sale in the U.S. is, in part, due to this fact.
