Exclamation 2008 IS-F!!! (All threads merged here)

just back from las vegas and the lexus southern area production meeting and have some is-f info to share. i apologize if any has previously been posted, but here goes:

2008 Lexus IS-F est delivery to dealers December 2007

5.0L V8

415+ horses

19" wheels, made by BBS, 225/40-19 front and 255/35-19 rear

0-60 under 5 seconds

8 speed auto trans

quad exhaust

brembo brakes with 14.2" front and 13.6" rear with 6-piston calipers

cylinder heads co-developed with Yamaha

power tilt and telescopic

larger grill

estimated base msrp before any options: $55,000

8-spd huh? so doing 125 at 1500k? any word on the the type of transmission or is it just like the LS's?

same width tires, they should at least be wider, maybe they will fit on my 350

My wife is gonna hate me when I want to trade my 350 for one! Sounds great (except the tire sizes )!

yea I dunno about 415+ hp on 255 width, i was expecting maybe 275

well, they are currently testing the car in europe, so i am sure this is subject to possible change. we are talking about the car coming out a year from now.

wow..that skyline is f-ing sick. The Lexus super car better come prepared to deal with that. You see how big those tailpipes are? 255 in the rear is too small for 415hp

The list is impressive, but no manual tranmission on a car of that caliber? I dont know..

DON'T FORGET!!! The new Lexus IS-F is not suppose to be in the same class as the skyline or be compared with it.!!! It is suppose to go against M3, etc.... So, please don't start comparing IS-F and Skyline coz it will create unnecessary arguments.

If they come out with the supra or something, than maybe it would be in the same class....!

Ok, so it's in a different class, but so what? It will take some buyers away from Lexus, without a doubt. If I put that car side by side with an IS and the horsepower was the same, there's no question I'd be taking the Skyline home. That car is unbelieveable...just sick. Where does the line start?
