Default Head Gasket Issue?

I stumbled across this video last night and the guy seems to be honest in his concern that this is a growing problem for all 2UR V8’s. That said, has anyone encountered this on the ISF? Now that many of us are getting up there in miles, we should start seeing this issue pop up if it is truly systemic.

Mine has more than this Landcruiser and shows zero coolant in the oil per my last Blackstone analysis. He also makes a significant error about the coolant. Yes, the first interval is 100k miles, but after that it's 50k miles. So, if his customers are not keeping up with the scheduled maintenance, this will be a problem.

Second, the 2UR variants in the non-F platforms have different heads. The F platforms have a G series head (Yamaha design, high performance) and the others have an F series head (as do all the other BHGs in the video) which is a Toyota design.

Third, there are other discussions from people with real problems on other forums. If this problem exists on some other F forum or Facebook group, it might be helpful to hear from someone who has had this issue.

For F head example: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lan...ssues.1346278/

I'll be interested to see if viperez586 has any comments on this.

I'm assuming the LC500 and the IS500 also have the Yamaha designed heads

Car Care Nut, he famously said there are basically NO DIFFERENCES between the V8 in the IS F and the IS 500 when there is a bunch. He still has his rabid defenders. I don't trust him but he's popular on youtube for some reason.

Yes, they all have the Yamaha heads. The G in the engine model designates Yamaha heads. 4A-GE, 2UR-GSE, 2JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GE, etc., etc., All have Yamaha designed heads.
