Headlight compatibility question
I purchased a used set of HID headlights out of an IS350, specific model year unknown, and installed them in my 2010 IS-F.
But they were aligned very low, so I tried manually adjusting them with the screws but even maxed out they were pointed below the correct range using a Symtech HBA-5 headlight aimer. Then attempted to calibrate the ASF system using an Autel pro scan tool, but it reported no communication to the motors.
So my theories are:

So my theories are:
- The motors in these used healights have failed.
- My body control module can’t communicate with them.
- The scan tool can't communicate with them.
Maybe your AFS is blown? Check that first. AFS only move horizontally at low speeds. Make sure the bulbs are aligned correctly in the project housing. If someone change it and didn’t put it in correctly could of causes aiming issue
It sounds like the leveling motors are not working at all. Assuming the lights are wired the same is fraught with peril, and not knowing what year the lights you purchased were made means you're really in the dark about them working correctly. Yes, it's a big PITA and lots of homework with the EWD, but it isn't hard to move the pins if that will solve the problem.
