Default Crank Bolt Removal

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the crank bolt out without an impact? RR-Racing sold me a bad crank pulley and I need to remove and replace it. I have a crank pulley puller but not really sure how to go about getting the bolt off. In the past, I used a starter bump method that worked great on my IS300's but I'm not sure if I can do that without an actual key ignition. Maybe I can, ideas?

You can't use the starter bump since there is no way to quickly turn off the engine. Can go to a shop and have them crack the bolt loose. There are other ways like intentionally hydrolocking the engine, jamming a tool into the flex plate etc.

I suggest buying a good impact.

It was just one bad batch that I was lucky enough to have purchased. The assembler didn't use the right loctite on the inner bolts and they will come loose.

You can easily remove the bolt by placing a wrench on the crank pully, making sure it rests agains the floor, and bumping the starter.

In order to tighten the pulley, you will need our holder tool, which comes with the pulley. If you don't have it, we can send it to you.

No worries. The reason the OP knows he had a pulley problem is that we identified the batch and notified customers. These pulleys were built a few months ago. You are welcome to check the bolts on your pulley, but I am certain there will not be a problem.

I don't know what the access is like on those engines but these should work.

I haven't done the starter bump on a keyless ignition, is it safe to just turn it off quickly? I mean I don't see any other way of doing it other than removing the fuel pump fuse or something.

Also, casting no shade on RR, I'm sure these are great now but regardless I just need to get this one off and shipped back to you guys.

Starter bump worked really well. Was able to get the pulley off and install the replacement 👌
