Hi, I posting here because I know you IS F guys have done more performance stuff to your cars than the other models. Hope someone can answer this question for me? Is there a BT app for OBD2 that lets you actually Record data on engine pulls and runs? Like 0-60 full throttle an/or others? Where you can look back at recorded data at in particular air/fuel thought the RPM points and other?
I know there are things like the AEM Wideband where you have to drill a O2 sensor in the exhaust. But is there something you can do plug and play? Thanks.
I have the OBDLink MX+, but I've never used it for datalogging because I have Techstream and it is infinitely more capable than any aftermarket solution.
I am using this generic bluetooth and Torque PRO for monitoring stuff on 08. Works pretty well and can read most of sensors out of the box. Reads factory widebands no problem so no need to install aftermarket wideband. Has some options for pulls and runs but I've neved used it.
@lobuxracer Thanks. So I have a version of TS. I am not that knowledgeable on TS. I did not know TS could data log record. I need to record a/f to adjust with my D3 Tune so I can know where I am and make the correct a/f ratio adjustment. I know I am too lean right now with major intake porting, TB enlargement and Headers & Exhaust . Would TS be best to check on a run through all the rpm band for a/f, and will it data log/record?
Or would one of these obd 2's be best like the one posted above, or this one? Appreciate the replies.
Just having TS isn't the whole story. The OBDII interface needs to be up to the task as well. I bought a Mongoose Pro BT to make TS work correctly. It datalogs anything you like, and the only limitation will be network comm and processing speed. I normally use BT to connect so I'm not fighting a wire, but the adapter can be used wired or wireless. If you're only logging a few parameters, you might be OK with one of the aftermarket devices, but if you're loading it up, it might not be pretty. As always, you get what you pay for. If your needs are simple, cheap might be just fine. If you're going for broke, you'll need to drop the Benjamins to make sure you get what you need. Sadly, that never seems to change.
If you're in dire need, LMK. I might be able to help locally.
I use the OBDLInk that lobuxracer mentioned. I have datalogged on it without issue so long as you don't pick a million PIDs. I don't think I could get a good A/F reading though.
