Soooo I have a 2015 IS C 350 Because the 2015 is really a 2014 carry over. The 2015 IS Non Convertible is the new Generation 3 model . Alot of time I have to look at 2014 IS when looking for parts or information. I want to upgrade the Navigation but am having a real hard time Pinning down just what I need.
The chart on Lexus website says that the 2015 iS C is a Gen 8 that comes on a Micro SD Card. The 2014 says its a Gen 7 and is USB: ACN activated.
Watched alot of videos showing how to pop the front panel ( where the clock is and Hazard light switch) out to access where it would go if it was a CD but that on the the gen 5'sht on this? My 2015 has the same pop out panel. So before I go ordering the SD card or USB has anybody got any insight. ?

It's a USB drive you need to upload the new map data.
I also believe you will also need a Techstream and possibly a USB key that only dealerships have to complete the process, so don't just order the update.
Have you looked up aftermarket upgrades like the Grom Vline2? This allows you to pair your iPhone or Android device to your screen. I'm unsure how much a software upgrade costs from Lexus, but I believe the Vline2 is a nice alternative and makes the navigation much more useful.
Imo when I use navigation in my car, I usually just pull it up on my phone because typing it into the address bar takes too long on the vehicle.
