A smaller, soft-sided, "carry-on" bag (22"x14"x9") may fit laying on its side if you can compress the new top (actually side) of the bag longitudinally to fit within the more shallow top of the compartment when compared to the bottom.

Look at this picture with a small golf bag in the trunk and tell me how you're going to fit a full-size, checked bag in there. I'll wait.

And this car has the biggest roof-down trunk space of any hard top convertible. It looks like you're just going to have to ride from the airport to your destination with the top up or put stuff on the back seat, sorry.
I meant carry-on not checked lol my apologies for making you have to go through explaining that over again, thank you for the clarification

Thanks for clearing my up! The only "checked bag" that fit in my trunk with the top down is pretty small, maybe 20 inches tall. The main checked bag was a soft side canvas type bag that in can just shove in the side pockets because half of my items where out and put to use (dashcam set up). Unless you are traveling light, don't expect to fit everything in the trunk with the top down. That being said, if you are creative enough, majority of your stuff can fit in the trunk with the top down but not no big *** check in luggage. Only way that is possible is have that big luggage in the back seat.

Carry on will fit in your trunk with the top down with out a doubt. My two carry ons fit perfectly in my trunk with the top down.

My hardside roller bag that is carry-on size DID NOT fit in the trunk with the top down. If your bag is soft-side, then maybe. I actually got one of these at the suggestion of someone else on the forum and it fits really well in the space.
