Default Start Up Issue

Hello all, this is my first post. Thank you for having me.

I just got home not too long ago and usually I sit in my vehicle for about 3-5 minutes after my drive. I did so tonight, got out of my vehicle. However when I was locking my doors I saw the lights flicker a bit. Slightly concerned, I tried to unlock my car to start it and see if my lights worked.

Tried to start it, engine didn’t turn over. Car turned on. Tried a couple more times, didn’t work.

got out of the car, tried to start it and same thing happened but I couldn’t push down on the break pedal. could someone assist me with this issue? Thank you

The cars use stored engine vacuum in what is a called a vacuum booster to aid the driver giving them mechanical assistance or leverage if you will. Depressing the brake pedal and releasing it say 3 to 5 times without the engine running and that stored vacuum in the brake booster module is vented to the atmosphere. Meaning, you no longer have mechanical assistance. Use both feet and it will move, just not as easily. When you do, verify the green light comes on. PS - that is normal after pressing the brake 3x times or more.

As for the lights flickering and the car not starting, we'll need more details. But if it cranks over repeatedly and does not start it is not likely the battery.
Is yours a 250 or 350?

Sounds like a dead battery to me. The brake issue is as mentioned above but it would have nothing to do with your electrical not working.

did the car crank when you pressed start?
