Hi all,
I've got a 2011 Lexus IS250C, which I started parking outside since last year (had to make room for the Jaguar F-Pace I got). The car is parked on an incline (there are hills everywhere in San Francisco). I noticed last winter that a lot of water came into the trunk and pooled at the spare tire. I had the dealer replace some seals, but this weekend I noticed again water in the trunk. It has not rained at all in the last 2 weeks, but humidity has increased so every morning there was condensation on the car. Does anybody know where these leaks could be coming from and how these can get fixed. I don't want to spend another $1,200 at the dealer for no results in getting the leaks fixed.
Thanks
I have the car parked nose uphill (about 15-20 degrees). I don't know which side the water comes in mostly. The dealer had tested it with the nose downhill and did not see any water ingress.
They just now tested nose uphill and found some leaking seals they're replacing. We'll see how much this comes out to cost me. Hopefully this fixes the issue or I'm selling the car.
Cheers
Looking for some feedback here - just bought a used 2010 IS 350C and noticed this problem of water in the trunk. I just checked the 'side drains' and they're working fine. I was parked in my driveway that has a very slight incline with the nose up. Has anyone solved this?
I actually had this issue repaired by the dealership within warranty. Will try to look up the description, but I did remember they had to change a seal/lining somewhere.
New to the ISC family this year, so limited experience.
Are you talking about water draining into the trunk in general, or when putting the top down after washing/rain? I've noticed that the channels hold water (especially on incline with nose up) that dumps into the trunk compartment when the top operates. This is greatly reduced to almost nothing if I wash the car on the same inline (maybe 15-20%) with the nose down.
Also to note: drains are clear. I've made the assumption this is a design that didn't factor the vehicle being parked on an incline for proper drainage.
My 350 gets some when washing on incline. I gorilla glued the seal on areas of trunk that seemed to be poor adherence. Its improved but i just put a towel in trunk when i wash it.
