According to The Car Connection (www.thecarconnection.com) The 2015 RC Coupe will effectively replace the IS C hardtop convertible. So no more convertibles from Lexus?????

Rumor has it that the ISC will be dropped and the RC will come out in a convertible variant (RC-C?)a year or so after the RC coupe is introduced... so glad I bought my ISC, because I am NOT a fan of the spindle grill of the new Lexus models...

 

It looks like the rear end on that thing is so short there would be no room for a retractable hard top to fit in the trunk. Looks like a Hyundai Tiburon.

 

I special ordered my IS 350 C back in October and my sales guy said that 2014 is the last year for the convertible IS. He said Lexus would be going in another direction for 2015 and forward. I guess it will either be an RC convertible or - like Toyota did back in 2008 - no convertible available anywhere in the line.

Normally I would take anything a car salesman says with a grain of salt. When I was looking for a 2004 Solara convertible 10 years ago, the sales guy told me Toyota didn't make a convertible for the `04 model year. I just sold my `04 Solara convertible a month ago to make room for the new IS. Everything my guy at Kuni Lexus has said has been spot-on everytime so I'm inclined to believe him.

 

I'm with you guys. I'm sooooooo glad I got my car when I did. I really worry about something happening to it and I can't replace it too. In Memphis, that is always a posiblity. I have already had one car stolen. I would just die!
