they did a small facelift in the 09... i guess there would be no facelift till the 2012 model which might be a new model all around... which could be released end of 2011..

my guess would be that it would be updated to the RX system. When the Gen V system came out, it seems like they updated the models as they were due for redesign.

question i have is this: does the RX system have the ability to rip music to the hard drive?

I seriously doubt that. The RX does not have a touch screen, and they have the little controller on the center console. There's no room in the IS for that gizmo. They'd have to wait till the next gen IS, which is probably at least 2 years off.

that will come out with some kind of "XX edition" real soon...

add a few "exclusive" features, a different rim design and charge you for an arm and a leg......

Default 3rd Gen IS prediction

I bet 3IS will have this heads up nav display already available on 2010 RX. Looks pretty cool.

really should, the open display on current models is cool, but needs to be put away at times. We'll see, I guess in September or so

Get rid of the ashtray, then there's some space for the joystick. Or just put it where you put the cupholder because that thing is way too small to be useful.

I'm bummed about the joystick and loss of touchscreen...it's devolution as far as I'm concerned. At the very least, it's change for the sake of change, regardless of what works better.

Why does it need to be put away? If I don't want to look at it, I turn the screen off. It is integrated into the design of the vehicle - I don't find it to be obtrusive in the least.
