Question Lexus Convertible - Anything new on the horizon?

I've heard that the Solara cancellation has all but been confirmed (or perhaps it already has). I've heard that the solara convertible may be absorbed somehow into the Lexus line. I imagine this would fit for an IS.

Hardtop convertibles are starting to come from companies like Chrysler and Pontiac - but aside from the outdated (waiting on a new bodystyle) SC, has there been any news on an IS or ES vert?

I'm in the market and I hear that the new G37 may have a vert around 09, but I've been keeping eyes open each day to hear what doesn't seem to be more than rumors

I've searched but to no avail, has there been any firm news on updates on the Lexus convertible line? I wouldn't mind an IS by any means (and am planning on it for next year) - but a convertible would make me twice as happy

Plans are still going for a coupe version to come in 2009. Maybe a convertible version to come a year after. By 09 there should be alot of improvements. Thats my guess.

I can only hope. The only thing I miss about my move to the IS is losing the convertible.

I think a lot of the hard top convertibles look kinda ugly with the top up because you can see all the panels and such.

IMO i think the 3 series convertible is ugly with top up. It looks amazing with the top down however.

The only ones i really like both top up and down would be the SC and the Cadillac XLR.

Hopefully Lexus can design a hard top that is very appealing top up and top down.

I know I will definitely be trading up for the convertible when it comes out as well.

I think it will likely be the 4-stage one as demonstrated in the LF-C concept . . .

I certainly hope so. I think they should only do an IS hard top convertible and an IS-F coupe. IMO no need for both and IS/IS-F coupe and Coupe-Convertible
