to supercharge the is350 or buy an isf?
supercharge the is350 with rr-racing sc
- probably cheaper
- will be rare
- you get to keep some of your mods like intake, exhaust, lips kit, etc
- will be more reliable
- you get better transmission, seats, etc

No brainer. F.
Fuel economy will likely be the same.
Cost plus installation will put you close to what you could sell your for to get an IS-F
Reliability will be better with an F.
You're going to likely need a tune, which will alter the factory ECU which was developed by Engineers who have been doing this for years upon years vs some company who likely has a fraction of the experience and likely aren't Engineers.
Supercharge + Tune sounds really fun, but so did a BMW 335i until I realized it was unreliable / yearly repairs.
Just my opinion. If you have the cash and want to be unique and be a beta tester, go for it.

Isf with simple bolt ons and a tune will crush it. And they’re rare as well.

Another factor to consider is that the 2IS350 is approx. 250 lbs lighter than an IS-F. The short gear ratios with the 4.08 final drive of the 2IS350 is also worth noting.
Lastly, stock 2IS350s are capable of 0-60 times in the high 4s and 1/4 mile times in the low 13s. This is with only 265rwhp on tap. Adding another 160+ rwhp to the mix will certainly put many FBO IS-F owners on notice.

ISF with full bolt ons is just as fast as the IS350 with full bolt ons and supercharged. Both options are appealing. A couple of parts are still transferrable to the ISF, so I'd transfer as much as possible and bite the loss on some mods and their terrible resale. Which is what I plan to do. In the meantime, I'm still on my way to full bolt ons with the IS250

I'm in the same boat, But the thought of selling my IS350 and financing another $15-$20k for a better trans, and a V8 is hard to swallow, If you did the RR S/C kit with the other bolt ons, a quality coilover, swaybars, bushings, etc. you would still be $5-10k cheaper than jumping to a IS-F (unless you're ok with getting a high mileage, crashed F) Only thing i don't see there being much if any resale value or gain in a S/C IS350 which is something to consider.

It really depends what your priorities are. If you want to go fast on a budget, then a modified IS350 is where it's at. If you want the exclusivity of a halo car, get the IS-F.

to be honest redspencer you sound like you have a thing against the isF and are just stating random fact about dyno charts which NEVER show the cars full potential. I guess the extra 70ish pounds of torque the isF generates doesn't really matter? lol
I would put my stock isF against ANY supercharged is350 and have no problem showing you the isF is bar none the better car and faster. Now factor in full bolt ons and tune its not even going to be close.
show me some lap times and 1/4 mile times with video of "claimed" is350 being as fast as you think its going to be.
either way do what makes you happy OP. I have owned all is250, is350, and now a 2013 isF. I didnt want to continue to throw money at a car I KNEW would never be quite the car an isF is. If you're an isF hater than get a blower and hopefully one day we can put the cars against each other. Also keep in mind 200-300k mile isF have still sold for over $10k there is no way an is350 would pull that same cash.

^ I don't really see the IS350 fanboy-ism just stating that the supercharged IS350 could theoretically be comparable to a FBO ISF. RR Racing's ISF with their power package - tuned intake, exhaust, headers, makes about 424/404 whp/wtq (http://www.rr-racing.com/RR-Racing-T...isfitk0003.htm), compared to this supercharged IS350 with 412/324 coupled with the 2IS350s gear ratios and weight advantage, not to forget AWD but that probably negates the weight advantage. I personally think we should wait and see for an actual comparison test in the future. RR racing has stated that the Stage I supercharger has the power to weight of a stock RCF which is slightly faster than a stock ISF 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, so given that the stage II kit has an additional 55-60 whp I don't see how it could be impossible for IS350 to match a FBO ISF, but obviously the full potential of the ISF is leaps and bounds higher than the IS350.
