It is time for a dedicated spotted thread! Even in the busiest of cities, it seems rare to spot these cars regularly. Let’s hear who has spotted another IS 500. Good chance it could be another member here.


I'll start it off:

I saw my first IS500 driving on the road yesterday. White IS500 yesterday evening heading east on Lantana Road in Lake Worth, FL. White is sexy btw!

 

Car meets don't count. Friends don't count. And you gotta show a picture. This thread is going to be empty for a while.

 

Ironically enough, was watching a dashcam car crash on youtube and there was a minor wreck behind an iridium 500 with Enkei wheels, the 2022 version. I got so excited lol

 

Picture is going to be hard. Gonna have to chase these is500s down lol. We can allow it without pictures unless you’re lucky enough to get one.

I didn't know about this until last week from a friend. but my Launch Edition was in a video of a well known local Car Youtuber. I was surprised because May was a long time ago. My car is at the 7:09 Mark.

a coworker once found me in someone else’s YouTube vlog while I was in Japan. It was half a second but she recognized me by my jacket!

In a similar boat here. Only one Lexus dealership in Idaho. They’ve sold two IS500s, one to me and an LE that went to a Montana buyer. Don’t think I’ll be seeing another one anytime soon.

 

^^ At the time a year ago my car was the 1st IS500 sold in my state in (Michigan) There are others now only 2 I know of but non Launch Editions.

 

I am in a similar situation in my little province - Only 2 IS 500 are in Atlantic Canada, mine and the other one is in NS. The dealer told me they have one on the way (2023) for NS but it is cool to have a car that is so rare. Ironically, there are 2 IS 300 in Atomic Silver (2021) in my town and to an untrained eyes, they may think mine is the same, especially that I have the same wheels as them, but I always tell them to check my bulge and my rear end.

 

Are you sure it was actually white and not a white pearl wrap? The reason I ask is because a lady friend I know that has an IS500 lives near there but her car, while white from the factory, is currently wrapped in a white pearlescent wrap. I've been fortunate enough to drive said car and I gotta say, it's a drug. I can see why you guys like it so much. I took it to Mexico and before I realized I was doing 120. I feel like a tweaker; I want MORE!!!

I am curious why she did the wrap? Was it to protect the paint or she wanted to have a unique sort of white? So you drove her IS 500 to Mexico? That would have been a fun drive and I can see why you would want one after driving it. I have a friend that has been in my car a few times and every time, he is like "OMG this car is sooooo amazing!" - Sadly, he can afford one but is just unwilling to part with his money. I am not sure why some get more pleasure out of seeing money grow in a bank account/investments than enjoying it?! There is a balance, don't get me wrong. That being said, when you have over a million, a lifetime pension and are 65, why not enjoy it?
