Didn’t know if anyone else has noticed this? The birds eye camera view puts the side of the car about 8” to 12” closer to potentially damaging objects (like curbs) than what is shown from behind the car. Pretty clear to see the disjointed rendered curb line in image below.
Might just be my car. Dealer said they could probably recalibrate everything but since car is already to be replaced not really worth shuttling back & forth just to get this fixed. Regardless might be worth confirming that your IS doesn’t do this as relying too much on the birds eye view for parallel parking could lead to some scratched rims !!!
Interesting, I haven’t noticed it. If anything mine seems to be a little extra generous on distance. Which is fine by me. Definitely don’t want to scratch my rims.

You guys got me all paranoid and so I went and looked at mine and it looks like it has the same behavior as the OP. However, I think I might know what the "problem" is and would like verification from those of you that say that your cameras are fine. Looking at the OPs image, the water spot in the parking lot to the left lines up perfectly with the side and rear camera. However, the problem appears to be on the right side where there is a 6" curb. Since the side camera is closer to the curb than the rear camera I believe it is doing a better job at canceling out the 6" height, but the rear camera is in the center of the vehicle and as such it is not able to create a perfect top-down view because of the curb. On my car, I have a similar condition where the painted stripe on the left looks perfect, but the curb on the right has a similar condition. So I'm curious, those of you who said that its fine, are you check on a curb or on a paint stripe. I'll check later at my house how it looks when a stripe is on the right, but from my memory I think it doesn't have a problem under that condition.
TipsyTonio - and mine is in the garage since the weather is crappy here but if I go out tomorrow (weather should get nicer in the afternoon), I'll take some pics
I can confirm that on mine, same thing happens with curbs, which makes sense due to the way the cameras are setup.
I was between two lines and on one side, there was a curb about a foot apart from the line, the lines on both sides were perfectly aligned, but the curb had the same distortion as in the previous pictures.
Before having the dealer spend some time on this, I'd suggest you try the "lines test"

The “lines test”. I love it lol. I guess the takeaway from this is to use the image from the side camera when parking if there is a curb lol
So thought it was just elevated curbs that caused the misaligned rear view camera problems, but yesterday noticed it was doing it with painted lines on a flat surface when backing it at an angle. Interestingly, during the same parking exercise, it both misaligned too wide and too narrow versus what was actually going on back there. Frustrating that Lexus says such a blatant defect is “within spec” …
^^ I never had this issue with painted line. I have noticed it with an elevated curb but between painted lines, it has been perfect on mine. How thick was the paint on the lines? (lol)

Wow that is such a blatant defect! Holy crap. I’m sure you checked, but is it possible that the camera on the mirrors was dirty? I know there’s a diagnostic menu to adjust the angle of the cameras and how it stitches the image but I have no idea of how to get into it. Perhaps @Sasnuke or @flipside909 can provide some insight?
