Default Allotment delayed - IS500 Premium

Well this is a bummer. I have my name by a USB on Black that was supposed to be in port and headed to my local dealer this week. They just notified me that while my vin is still good and my name is still on the car, but that the "allotment has been delayed until next month." Now I'm getting a little bit of dead air/blank stare from them when I ask for a new date.

Disappointing.

Anyone else get bad news today? You guys post some pretty blue pics to make it better! #bluecrew

I have been told the IS500 has been discontinued until further notice. I was told this information last week from Lexus of San Diego. I’ve been thinking about waiting it out for the possibility of a black line edition.

Yep. Afraid of that. I thought I might be in better shape since my vin had been assigned.

While we like to joke and such, it ain't a good news for enthusiasts and some of our members who havent been as lucky as those who got theirs.

Let's just hope this is temporary but seeing the Mazda 6 phased out, the STI phased out, will the 50p stick around for the planned 4 years seems doubtful but I hope I am wrong

I think it will work out for those still waiting. Nothing is forever And these really are 1st world problems, having $70k for a car that you can't find.

Sorry that happened to you. Hang in there, it sounds like you'll still get it just a bit later as they said the VIN is good and your name is still on it.

Both my dealers have pretty much given up trying to figure out when an allocation will come in. At this point, I am already expecting #2023lue to be my best and only option. *Cries in larger down payment*

I understand the frustration. On the plus side I believe you’ll get a slightly improved car. But hopefully Lexus doesn’t raise the MSRP. I’m pretty sure Lexus decided the 2022 MSRP sometime in spring/summer 2021 before the world discovered we had a 7.9% inflation rate

This is my biggest worry. If a Premium ends up at the cost of a Launch (which I had multiple chances to get)? I may move on.

I don't blame you. I honestly wouldn't purchase this car for the launch price. It is a great car, but the launch edition prices it out of its depth imo. It would be more expensive than a 1LT C8 and really close to a 2LT C8. The CT4VB would also be compelling.
