Phew, I don’t feel so bad now. After break-in, spending some time in sissy (eco) mode, I was near 19mpg. I averaged 20.5 in my 2021 IS 350 FS DHP, so I was impressed.

I now mostly drive in Custom (all performance settings) or Sport+ and I’m down around 17mpg. Loving every minute of it, this car is hard not to drive fast.

Currently @28 MPG in my 350 DHP mix driving in Eco. 32MPG highway. 80 Score in the app. Honestly I am super happy with it. Only mod so far is the rear F Sport badge lol.

Now that’s an impressive Drive Pulse score!

I don't think anyone who purchases the IS500 is worried about fuel efficiency!

^^ I agree...to an extent. I mean we all expect to be worse than the IS 350 but it has to be within reason, if that thing consumes more than a 50 foot motor home, then that is another thing too

The within reason part is controlled by your foot

That is a good point, but that applies also to every single vehicle. To me, I would want my IS 500 (if I were to buy one) to be about 2-3L/100km more than my IS 350 (AWD) all other things being equal. In other words, if I drive it the same way, in the same environment and such, I would expect it to be more, but not ridiculously more is what I was trying to explain. But your statement is totally fair, if I start really having fun with it on some days, I can't expect the fuel consumption to be comparable

My IS 300 AWD was getting about 2 MPG less on average than my RWD IS 350 is now. I'd imagine the 500 would be similar to the 300 AWD if not slightly better. The 8-speed makes a big difference on the highway.
