LOL I’m sure there are some dang foos among us who will pride themselves on getting 6mpg in their IS 500. I’m averaging 17-18 in mine. I averaged 20.4 in my IS 350 FS DHP, and could average 15-16 when really enjoying the car. Really wish I’d kept the 350 instead of trading it. It was a great car.

^^ Really? You preferred your 350 over the 500?

The fuel economy is being a bit slightly disappointing for me though so far. With my C63s I can average 11 to 12 L/100km on the highway around 90mph. For some reason I was expecting the fuel economy to be around that with the IS500. But even when taking things easy, I have been getting mid to high 13L/100.

May be just naturally aspirated engines drink more in general?

13-14L/100km despite being light on the throttle is not good I was expecting closer to 12L/100km for that type of driving....

No. If I have to choose one, I keep the 500 hands down. My original plan was to keep the 350 and the 500. The 350 would have been an extra car for wife and I to share, and give to our daughter in about 4 years. We just don’t have space for another car. Currently we have 5 cars at the house ( one is my son’s, another is my mother’s) and there just isn’t room for a sixth.

The IS has a larger NA V8. The Benz is cruising with no boost and a smaller V8 on the highway. The small turbo motors usually do better on the highway unless the larger V8 has cylinder deactivation or something. Toyota never used it, probably because some complain about reliability with it.

My mom's LS 500 will get 34 mpg on the highway if you keep your foot out of it. She gets like 14-15 mog around town though

Google says 13L is about 18 mpg. If that is your highway mileage something is definitely off. I'd try it with cruise control and see if it goes up.

From my trip to the coast today. This is the best I got... once I hit the mountains and had a few WOT runs to pass people it dropped down to 27.2 mpg.

Not bad - maybe I can convince my better half that it won't be that much more expensive to run. I sorta had a feeling there wasn't going to be a big difference between the 350 and 500. The 5.0 is pretty efficient considering what it is.

Yeah it is great, but there is a 3-5 mpg difference depending on the road and speed compared to my ES. Small price to pay for 170 more hp!

Same stretch of road my ES best was 34 I think. Best mileage ever came from the C7 at 38. I will have to look through my old photos and see if I still have the photos for the ES.

Default IS500F Gas Mileage

Like the title says boys im just wondering how much is the gas mileage to the tank from 100% full to close to empty or Empty, and also what you guys are getting on the MPG as Im thinking to buying my 2nd IS for daily and spirited driving duties haha.

Currently own a Lexus IS350F 2014 year and I get 300 to 320 on normal/ Eco mode to the tank

Sport plus 220-250 to the tank

My IS500 just went over 3000 miles. So far I’m averaging 16.1mpg of real calculated mpg in all city driving, normally filling up every 250 miles or so and when it shows 30-50 miles of range left. That mileage is a good mix of having fun and driving the family around. Probably 70% eco, 30% sport+.

Have only done two long highway trips - got just over 29mpg on the first 450 mile trip and second 270 mile trip averaged 27mpg (more mountain passes with 10-15mpg higher average speed than the first trip).

Regardless our cars make it very clear they don’t care about what kind of MPGs they’re giving us …
