Default 245/275 Tire Picture Request

Hello everyone!

Looking to get a new set of tires for my IS500 and am thinking about sizing up to 245/40 in the front and 275/35 in the rear. I'm curious to know if anyone has done this before and has a picture of what the extra tire size looks like on a factory suspension. Thank you so much in advance!

EDIT: to clarify, this would be on the forged 19" BBS.

I, too, would be interested in seeing how the upsize looks - and how much it makes spacers unnecessary for a flush look when on Swift springs, if anyone has that double play going on.

I dunno. The closest I know of is @geckornr 's car, which is on 20's, but similar tire sizes.

Front: 235/35 20
Rear: 275/30 20

When I had an ISF I ran 255/35/19 and 295/30/19 on modified RCF wheels:

YESS!!! This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much!

Any regrets with any of it? (tires, spacers or springs)?

Tires, not at all.
They woke up the car in terms of grip in acceleration and braking. There is no down side I have seen. The bigger sizes where even cheaper than the stock sizes.

Springs and spacers have been on the car for a little over 100 miles now. The car feels so much quicker to respond to anything i do. The car basically feels lighter and more agile. I love it!
The only thing I am concerned about, if you can call it that, are the 20mm spacers. Visually it looks great, but the rear wheels are throwing everything up the side of the car. It is also very close to the fender but I have not rubbed yet. I may change to 15mm in the rear if anything.

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to reply. This is the direction I wanted to go but wasn't sure so I'm glad I was able to get some first hand feedback. Don't be surprised if I have more questions in the near future.

I also have some Continental ECS02 tires, but stock sizes. Even with the stock sizes, they throw stuff up onto the car, so personally I wouldn't want to go any wider.

I do love the way they drive, though. The steering feels more alert, and the ride is a little firmer.

Before the spacers the mudguards caught everything, now, not so much.

@Srd555 Are those Continentals the all season or summer version? Do you like them? We have Contis on our SUV and love them.

Also how is the ride quality after installing the Swift springs? Really love the IS500’s ride as it is so don’t want to suffer that much added firmness. Would also be curious if coil overs would keep the plush ride but still lower the car a bit.

Regardless your ride looks great with those mods.

The Extreme Contact Sport 02 is a summer tire. That's what we both have.

These are the summer tires. I like them alot they work extremely well in the wet.
The swift firms up the car, still very comfortable for me, I like it so far.

Your ECS02 are 0.5" wider than the stock S001Ls with respect to tread width or contact patch. The Michelin 4S are 1" wider..

This is what I am getting off of Tirerack.

Stock sizes might be the best way to go if one is running OEM wheels.

If you and DLPTony could take some pics next time you two link up, that would be a great PSA!
